Welcome to our group, Anges. I know that I am going to enjoy seeing your images from a different part of the world.
I love the lead in lines, the overall dark tones in the foreground leading my eye to the well lit mountain in the distance. The horse and rider are well positioned, but I would like to see them just a little lighter. |

Jose, your world travels do certainly allow you to produce some very interesting architectural images. I love this composition and color palette, although I find the whites at the end of the tunnel to be a little too bright.
I would crop out the building and square arch on the right of the frame as it is an unnecessary distraction. |

I think Bobs second version adds warmth to the image allowing the colors to be more vibrant. I do like the sunrays coming into the image from the top right.
Your composition is really good as my eye follows the river through the image to the mountains and sunray at the back. You could probably crop out some of the sky as it does not add much to the picture. |

Welcome to our group, Anges. And thanks for your detailed comments and suggestions.
One of the drawbacks of the internet is that we are all viewing our pictures on different monitors and they are all calibrated differently. On my monitor the whites are not blown out at all.
I look forward to your comments in the future. |

Sand dunes provide wonderful shapes and patterns especially when captured at the right time of day. Your figure is well placed in the format and provides a sense of scale. |

We spent a week in the Smoky Mountains in October, and spent a lot of time driving around looking for red barns.
I love this composition as you lead us up this path to the red barn. I would suggest darkening the tree and branches to the right of the path and also the sky just above the roof of the barn.
The sunburst adds some interest to the empty part of the image. |

Brenda, this is a big improvement. Love the detail in the eye.
Happy Holidays to you and your family. |

Its so unusual to have a red background, but in this case it does highlight the butterfly well.
I agree with previous comments about the bright yellow in the centre of the flower, which you can easily tone down.
I like the way you have added light into the eye. |

You have captured the action of the blue heron landing in the water. The reflection is great.
I would prefer more space at the top of the frame. In South Africa the nature purists would say that if the animal lifts it head it would hit the top of the frame! Ouch!
I can just see the edge of the eye when I enlarge the image, so it would help to brighten it somewhat. This can be done successfully in the new camera raw.
Well done with reclaiming the right edge of the wing tip which is clipped in your original. |

Your butterfly is well lit and stands out from the background.
Pity that the specimen was old and not ideal, but we have to work with what we get at the time.
I would crop some off the top to remove that leaf leaning to the left, which I find a distraction. |

Thanks for the recipe to produce your textured backgrounds.
Once again your post processing has turned this image into a winner, particularly with the ripples in the sand. I do agree about the backpack, which should be easy to remove.

This is a simple image but so effective. Composition is perfect, background nicely blurred and unobtrusive, with colors complimenting your main subject.
Yes, interesting that the most mundane subjects can become beautiful pictures with great lighting and proper technique. And you don't need to travel far to get great shots. |

I love your black and white conversion, Dean. You have achieved great tones and contrast with excellent range from black to white. The pier does not bother me at all as it is toned down sufficiently.
Your composition is well handled with one tree on the right balancing the main tree to left of center and then leading my eye to the trees on the left.
Well done! |

Lowering the camera angle would have included the edge of the road which I did not want in this image. Thank you for your suggestions for a vignette. |
