It took me awhile to find the rainbow! There must be a way to enhance that part of the picture - select and then play with the hue and saturation, and brightness. Agree that the clouds are lovely and horizon needs to be straightened. |

Yes, the bright leaf bothers me also. Crop, or burn as suggested above. The blue flower however is beautiful in coloration and sharpness. Perhaps you can concentrate on the flower and the bud to its left and eliminate everything else. |

Your shadow has a definite air of mystery around it. It is clean and works well in b&w. My only suggestion is to add a 2 pixel white stroke to define the borders especially on the right side. |

I think the composition works as the row of boats act as a good lead in to the bay. I find the bird to be so small that it is more a distraction than providing any benefit and would be better cloned out. The pilings act as a frame and I would keep them in. And the red roof is in the right position to draw my eye through the composition. |

Thanh you for your comments and feedback. I will try to add some to the top from the original. |

This picture tells a good story. The composition is spot on with your subject on the right side and I appreciate that he is not looking at the camera, but rather engaged in what is in his hand. The colors are pleasing and I wander why you chose to desaturate them? |

Bob, I am always amazed by the time and effort you put into creating your masterpieces.Red and yellow are very good complimentary colors, and the clean black background shows off the petals to their best advantage. My only quibble is to do a little more clean up to the right of the right hand stem. |

This is a big improvement and shows the value of different eyes to view an image. |

As you can see from the original, I did very little besides cropping, Topaz Denoise AI and Sharpen AI. I have been using Luminar sky replacement on many of my images, but preferred the clean blue background for this picture so as not to show any interference from the bird.
On my monitor the color and brightness look correct, and I have calibrated my monitor several times in the past month. However, I have added a curves adjustment to lighten the whole picture. Does it look any better now? |

Strange to have 2 lightning pictures this month. I like the multiple bursts, and the way that the sky is illuminated. Pity that nothing is present in the foreground. Would you consider cloning in something from another picture? Boat or shipwreck? |

Brenda, your choice of b&w for this image was good and you have converted it very well. As a silhouette, I would have darkened the tree even more. For the glow, I would try to use dodge and burn at a low opacity, but the glow doesn't really bother me.
I do find that your horizon line is crooked with everything leaning to the right. And this is an easy fix. |

Flowers shot in bright sunlight is always difficult. A cloudy overcast day is actually better for floral photography as the clouds act as a huge soft box.
The treatment that you have given this picture is a definite improvement from the original. Keep up the good work and keep learning. |

Candy, this is gorgeous. The added sky (yours or Luminar4?)really makes this image stand out. I wonder why you chose to flip it. While it is your absolute right to present any scene the way you see fit, I don't think you have achieved anything. You have also eliminated the natural lead in of the waves going from left to right. For those of us purists? who have been to Cannon Beach, it just doesn't feel right.
I happened to be reviewing these pictures from my visit in 2013 and offer it here for no particular reason! |

Pierre, you have captured the action of the Heron landing really well. However, I find that the head is lost in the background. Perhaps you can try some dodge and burn to create better contrast, or use a blur filter to reduce awareness of the background. |

Dean, This is great use of the Lightning Bug and thanks for the explanation on its working.
I prefer your crop rather than the square format suggested by Brenda as I believe that the tree acts as a frame. However, I find that the tree gets lost into the black background on my computer. I have cropped slightly from the left and bottom and added a 2 pixel stroke to make your picture stand out better. |
