I don't think that the square image is as strong as your original. I still suggest a horizontal flip, so that the eye is led through the leaves to the strong red tail light on the right. |

You started with a pretty flower and ended up with a piece of art. I love the color palette here, and I think you achieved what you set out to do. The "V" in front is so strong that i don't find the front petals bothersome at all. |

I cant work out how you did this. Is it from the same image or a different image of the same subject? Either way I love the composition as you presented it here. The brick background almost looks like a screen that you added to the image. |

Amazing what you can achieve with a cell phone. Soon there will be no need to lug around our heavy equipment when we travel. I would never have guessed that this all came from a single bloom, so you have done well. And it looks like you had a lot of fun in creating your own composition. |

I like the texture in the steel ladders and the wall behind. The thing that disturbs me most are the bright light bulbs everywhere. I know it would be a pain to do, but I would darken them all or clone them out. |

I visited Old Car City a few years ago and the photography is not easy there, as everything is piled on top of each other and trees everywhere. Here you have done well to capture an aspect of the car while eliminating the distractions. Your Photoshop techniques have helped to brighten the image considerably and I agree with cloning out of the handle. My eye is drawn to the bright red tail light, and so I wonder if a horizontal flip would improve the composition. I see Belinda has the same idea! |

This image shows off the Kereru much better than last months submission while still showing us its environment. Probably taken in the middle of the day, as I find the lighting and shadow to be quite harsh. |

Brenda, I love the way the wolf emerges from the background. The lighting is great and you have also shown movement on the front paw. I would also suggest a crop from the right side, but I think your 2 edits crop off too much. I would crop the large tree and leave in the thinner, darker tree as this forms a nice frame. |

Donna, you have a presented us with a perfect image this month. The heron is sharp from wing tip to tip. The bokeh is clean with no distractions. How fortunate you were to be able to shoot down on the bird, which has eliminated so many of the distractions caused by shadows and mergers of the wings. |

Candy, once again you have captured a simple aspect of our environment and made it special. Your treatment has made the mushrooms stand out from the background and enhanced the texture of the tree. Most of us would have passed this without even bothering to make a recording! |

How lucky to capture these goats at such close range. The last time I saw mountain goats they were small white dots in the distance. The tight crop does not bother me, but I would get rid of the rock on the extreme right edge of the frame. |

I find this a great environmental image, Dean. I find the placement of
the frogs on the lily pad to be perfect and I'm drawn to the sharp focus of their eyes. I would tone down the brightness of the storks on the right and clone out the 2 stems in the water lower left. |
