40 Mar 18 Reply I think this is a great improvement and concentrates on the nature story. Your crop also takes the animals out of the center of the image. Mar 11th
40 Mar 18 Comment Hi Curtis, I am the director of group 69, a Nature Plus group, which allows some changes to your image. In nature the Nature Story is always important and here you have captured a great moment with the 2 fawns looking at you and just enough of the back animal to provide some mystery. Where it falls short is the merger and overlapping of the 8 legs which become confusing. Unfortunately I cannot see any way to correct that. Maybe a tighter crop to eliminate the legs altogether? The environment does not bother me as you said they exist in the wild amongst people. Zoo pictures are acceptable in our group, and often they will be shown with cultivated grass. Mar 11th

69 Mar 18 Reply I much prefer the color version. Thanks for sharing Mar 7th
69 Mar 18 Comment Beautiful bird and I appreciate seeing his environment. A crop of the left would take the bird out of the center - bull's eye - and eliminate the 2 branches at the lower left corner. Mar 7th
69 Mar 18 Comment Its simple. The colors are wonderful. Composition is also great. I especially enjoy the layers of pink/magenta going from top to bottom. Mar 7th
69 Mar 18 Comment You have great detail in the white feathers, and the wet bits on the edges of the neck add interest. I think the crop is fine. If you had to show this picture to 100 nature photographers, 50 would want more space around the bird and 50 would want you to crop even more! So the ultimate choice has to be your own. I probably would have tried to clone out the branch to create a cleaner image. Mar 7th
69 Mar 18 Comment Another winner, Candy. The lighting is great and the clear blue water allows us to see the fan of the tail feathers. The reflection is an added bonus. Mar 7th
69 Mar 18 Comment The bird is great but I hate things dead center. Always allow more room in front for the bird o swim into and less space behind. The ripples in the water provide the sense of movement. Mar 7th
69 Mar 18 Comment You did great with the composition, and reasonably sharp considering there was no tripod used. I do agree that we need more contrast as the image looks washed out on my monitor. Perhaps the color version would have helped the leaves and branches to act as a frame for the waterfall. Mar 7th
