My apologies for the late comments, but have just returned from a 3 week vacation.
The curve of the shore line really makes this picture for me. You have captured the reflection beautifully. The tilt to the right does not bother me as much as the other members of the group, but I do agree with the suggestions for adding contrast. |

Your subject is nicely balanced with the shadow which is surprisingly long for a mid-day shot. I presume it was winter judging by her clothing. I would suggest burning the paving stones on the right side particularly top right quadrant as my eye is drawn to that area. |

How interesting that we both chose soldiers graveyard pictures this month!
I like your monochrome conversion and have no problem with the negative space in the lower right corner. I would suggest using the dodge and burn tool to lighten the second gravestone, and darken the sky and the river. The bird is a nice touch to the scene. |

Welcome to our group Carl. I look forward to seeing many great images from you.
You have done well to blur the background to make the plant stand out. I love the way that the light has caught the edge of the leaves.
I have cropped even more to remove some bright distractions and some of the right. |

How lucky were you to have this nature story unfold right outside your bedroom window. I like your crop, to center on the action. I would suggest darkening the leaf to left of her beak. I also would have used a larger f stop to throw the background out of focus. |

Thank you for your feed back. The gravestones are certainly clearer and more pristine, but almost clinical. I was going for a more impressionistic look and in fact used a brush with 75% opacity in my layer mask, so that the stones would not appear as bright. I do agree with you about my loss of shadows, though. |

You have captured good detail in the blacks and whites. I would suggest cloning or darkening the post or rock behind the head. I would also suggest increasing the highlight in the eye. |

I have seen many great pictures of the canyons and this one is up there with the best. All the curves and gradations of the light and dark areas are superb. The curves lead my eye right up the canyon. |

The black and white conversion is better than the original and I love the texture in the animals. The tree provides a nice frame. I would darken the sky and background grass considerably. |

Another beautiful image, Candy. The early morning lighting is great and you have handled the background perfectly. |

This is a pleasant scene, but I find the background too bright and busy so that the ducks do not stand out enough.
I have cropped the image to make the ducks more prominent and darkened the background. Unfortunately at this resolution it has become pixilated. |
