What a great nature story. The background is nicely out of focus to emphasize the power of the lion. The light on his face and back show that it was taken at the right time of day - early morning or late afternoon. He is perfectly placed in the format. |

I added the Chevrolet badge and tag from another image. Does this improve the original? |

This is a wonderful image and could easily qualify in any nature category. The strong diagonal lines in the snow/mountain are superb, and the bright blue sky finishes it off perfectly. Well seen and well done. |

The vertical is definitely my choice. The foreground adds a nice story with the paints on the left and work light on the right. Darkening the sky would be an improvement. |

Yea, the figure adds scale to these enormous rocks. I agree with Bob to crop the sky on the left. The brown tones are wonderful and the greens are not overdone. |

I find the picture much too busy. I think it would have been better to concentrate on the 2 blue boats on the left, and include more water with some reflection. A vertical format might be more suitable for this subject. |

The color palette here is excellent and makes the picture for me. The work you did in post process has helped to make the colors more luminous, while maintaining the original tones. |

By removing the lower right gull and cropping from the right, you maintain the "V" shape of the grass against the sky, which I think makes the picture much more interesting. |

Remember these are wild horses, so you would not see them in a pasture or meadow. |

This is a pleasing shot, great to get all the birds in focus. I would suggest eliminating the lower right bird by cloning it out and then crop out some of the lower grasses and some off the right side. |

You have captured great depth in this landscape. The mountain formation on the left stands out so well from the background that it is almost 3D. Darkening the sky as Candy has done is definitely an improvement. |

I agree with whats already been said about the crop. I would lighten the Lynx even more to make it stand out from the dark tree. |

Great capture of this heron with such wonderful detail in the wings. you have added the extra space in the front of the bird seamlessly. Of course the stick adds the interest to make it extra special. |

This is a great image with the strong contrast of the red cardinal and the gray background. All the elements are well placed in the format. This is a picture that we can definitely not get here in Florida! |

Welcome to the group, Dean. Your first entry is a fine example of our natural world. The composition with lead in lines is excellent. I played around with it slightly, burning the sky and rocks especially the lower left corner and dodging some of the underhang to lighten that area slightly. |

Here is a second image from the same shoot. The lighting is better, but I thought the 3 horses were more story telling. What do you think? |
