Kathleen, I like that the flag makes a bold statement in this neighborhood - and the structure can be easily be identified. Perhaps this is a "restaurant" or bar (from the folding sign) that says this is the place to go to. I don't believe that a "human" is necessary - as it shows life as a human condition. You have a clear foreground, mid, and background and a focal point for the image. Flag is off-center- which make the composition all the more interesting. Love the round satellite dish at the top- like cherry on the top. Great image. |

Ed, thanks for including the original color version of the image, which I prefer. The colors define the path and the trees and ferns of the forest which I feel are lost in the B&W version. The image contains a lot of textures, with the same tonal values. I like the verticality of the trees which contrast with the feathery ferns on the floor. The human figures give us a sense of scale of the height of the trees. |

Bruce, I prefer the original vertical image which reveal the curvature of the steel beams and add to the architectural interest of the image. I would then crop out or remove the white box which is out of place. You caught the attendant at the right moment in time-punctuality seems so old fashioned these days. Both the time is shown as digital and analog and this repeats in the background. I like the cleanliness of the train station, and the water on the floor adds an extra layer of story. Colors are fabulous - red and blue. |

Pinaki, I like Bruce's edits the best as I believe they bring out the true colors of a mixed artificial lighting environment as evident from the white of his headdress which seems most true. Composition of a group of three (odd number) makes for a better more interesting image. For me the focus of the subject placed in the center of the image make it static, although there is some movement in the feet - for this reason I would crop a bit from the left to place the central figure on the thirds. I like his steadfast gaze as well as his purposeful stride, as compared to the two young men who appears to be idling time. |

Isaac, all three images are interesting and give some context to the culture of the area. I like the colorful dresses of the women and the ornate structures. I note that almost all of those waiting in line are women and perhaps the men and women are separated; also no footwear. As others mentioned, perhaps excluding the 3rd temple on the right would remove dome of the distractions of the image. Another sharp and interesting image of the world you travel. |
