Isaac... what was the critique of the mentor on your image? Did we get them all? |

Thanks Isaac... My camera position was captured crouching behind the street artist as originally presented. I like your flip which makes sense. |

Ed… good idea to convert to B&W. Except for the feet, I like the crop and the almost symmetrical proportions which gives a sense of balance to the image. Just to mention that I have often taken pictures of food trucks and waiting for the vendor would have meant that the customer would have his/her back to the camera. This is more interesting camera position where the customers are engaged in conversation while waiting. I also like the shadows on the ground and faces which indicates that the sun must have been relatively high to create the shadows and add depth to the image. |

Sally, I like the character, the feather in his cap, his jacket and his pose. Others have mentioned about the difficulty of capturing and isolating the man from the crowd. At f5.6 aperture, try focusing on his face and the rest of the shot should be blurred creating a natural focus. This takes practice. Adding a vignette to darken the corners would help to draw the viewer's eyes to the subject. |

Ed, interesting concept. I may even try a sepia tone in keeping with the period. I would also try cropping to the bottom of his jacket and eliminating the legs altogether. |

Isaac.. I like the panoramic crop which gives the composition of thirds, accentuated by the post, and the horizon line. Your story line of "three's" have the viewer searching for things in threes, which takes the viewer around the image to see how many objects they can find- thus keeping the viewer engaged in the image for a longer time. Others have commented on the obvious 3 people, cups etc. and the not so obvious- 3 posts, red objects. The woman in the center draws attention because she's different, seated, and the red cap. Side lighting and shadows provide a sense of depth, as do the foreground, middleground and background. I am amazed at what PS AI can do to remove the trash can and generate legs. Personally I would keep the can as it is true to the story and the color harmony of the image. |
