Bill, great composition and story. The inclusion of the sliver of the corner in the left adds additional dimension to the architectural space. The subject is beautifully lighted from the top right and the color blue adds to the feeling of "coldness" and isolation. I also like the off-center position of the subject which makes for an interesting composition. Thanks for this month's submission! |

Ed- camera club projects always push us to get out and take more photographs in all types of weather and different lights. I believe that the "blueness" of the image might have been corrected by using the "white balance" in post processing. Although this is an everyday scene - the man in the frame waiting for his fill-up provides a center of focus and puts us in the story. I think (except for the bush) you did a great job and hope your image got in the "news". |

I do like the color version of the image. The man in the background adds tension and I would have included part of him as well as he is a silent visitor. The subject's clothing is interesting and his hat makes him all the more so. I like the diagonal stick dividing the image into two frames of action. |

Sally, having read all the comments...I tend to like Isaac's version in color which contains all the elements of the story. I think that there is a lot going on in the image and color separates and emphasizes the two men in the story. Great catch! (No pun intended) |

Isaac, a colorful event with red as the predominant color. The yellow dragons provide a break in the color. The ribbons divide the image and provide diagonal leading lines to the subjects - the dragons. All of the bystanders are looking and applauding and this draws attention to the dragons as well. Nice camera position- top down which gives an interesting point of view. The only thing missing is sound - which is usually loud and noisy. Great capture. |
