Bill, I like that fact the subject's shirt is red, which makes him stand out among the crowd. The motion blur of the knives and hands add additional interest to the action going on. At f2.8, it was enough to soften the background showing the audience. Nice job! |

Ed, I like the layers of your image to create this action shot. Your camera position - it looks like you were on a hill or somewhere higher up in order to take this image. It's amazing what these daredevils can do that attract crowds. Keep up with the experimenting of your equipment. |

Bruce, I like the placement of the man as he exits the other "tunnel"- caught at the right moment. Nice composition and framing of the subject. Although the man is "small" the tunnel and road way leads the viewer to him. Very nice monochromatic palette. You asked about the "cropping" and I would have taken a "smidgen" off the left side, but leaving the "red" square box in. The right side is perfectly cropped- you can see where the corners lead off diagonally cleanly. |

Heidi, I like the expression on her face. Her smile is infectious and it looks like she has a little halo on her head. I think the background environment adds to the story. The lighting situation in restaurants is always difficult to manage the white balance. |

Sally, corvette cars always make heads turn and this one is pristine. I like Isaac's version of the crop which places the corvette as the subject. In situations like this, I tend to get low and shoot at eye level, from the back of the car or the front. From this image, It looks like you were standing when you took the shot. Getting down low presents a different angle. The folks dressed in white (especially the group of three behind the car) compete with the white of the car, and if its within your conscience I would have changed the color of their clothes to black. |

Isaac, great side lighting. I like the diagonals which add depth to the image. Complementary colors of red and green. This a story of manual labor under harsh conditions. I am thinking that all her worldly wealth- the earrings and bracelets are worn to safeguard against theft. There is no merging of the two persons as the face of the background man is in clear profile. Curious as to why you left the clothing object in the right top corner, since it does not add to the story? (Original #2 is not as interesting as your submission) |
