Yup! Reluctant husband, lol. Always a chore to try to get a picture together. BTW I found out that an iphone is the best camera to use to get these type of shots. |

Daniel, your image has a well-defined focus of the couple enjoying the sun. Compositionally each man is separately placed in his own frame within the green signage, yet seated closely together on the bench. The heavy bottom thirds of the image is balanced with a clean sky which provides negative space and a sense of calm. Shadows give a sense of depth and time. The text says it all. Good work and nicely done. |

Dan, so glad that you submitted this image of a manhole cover. It reminds me as a photographer to look around, look up, look down. Your image is sharp and the post processing really enhances the age and rust color. I like the square crop which adds stability and balances the circle nicely and sends us a message.
Ha Ha, Like both you and Isaac, I also take pictures of the places that I've travelled too - as a momento/souvenir - and I also include my feet to indicate that "I was there". In 2015 I was in Prague near the famous Charles Bridge.

Bruce.. the complementary color combination of purple/magenta and green, from the head to the socks works really well in your image. Nice placement of the head on the thirds. You did a nice job in post to darken the corners and bring focus to the subject. The "hedge" acts as a natural framing device to contain my eyes. Since the woman is looking up at you, the "top down" camera position already mentioned by Isaac can be fixed by the photographer lowering the camera to her gaze at eye level. A small suggestion is that you kneel if you can, similar to taking pictures of pets and children (sometimes we can't get back up) LOL. The amputated foot at the lower left , to me is a barrier to "entering" the viewing experience. A quick fix is to flip the image horizontally, so the eye enters from the top left and follow the curves of the woman and hedge and exit at the lower right. Of course, just a different POV for your consideration. |

Les, I totally agree with the other comments- beautiful colors and seeing the flag always evoke a patriotic and positive emotion. Balanced composition with the human figure occupying the top left quadrant and the flag opposite diagonally. I also like the parachutist's hand which appears to be waving to the people below. |

Isaac…a very good composition with the "bubble" connecting the relationship between the older man and the young boy. I like the outstretched arms and open step of the boy denoting action and the look on his face. Lighting is mid-day(?) but that time creates the opportunity for interesting shadow shapes which add depth to the foreground. Definitely agree with your choice of this image vs the other! Isaac, do you typically shoot in "burst" mode or "single shot"? |
