Expressing our thoughts freely are what makes this such a great group for growing as photographers! So glad you're back, Dan. |

Hi Dan, I thought that the ski boat may have provided some movement to the water and action. I like the leading line to the lighthouse and the rounded archway at the end. The circles are repeated in the bollards and are on the lighthouse as well. A stronger image would be if you moved to the left so your camera position would line up the bollards so as to hit the center of the archway. May I also suggest cropping the right side of the image up to the edge of the pathway. I personally like the bollard that's in the very front - not wanting to be ignored. |

Bruce I agree with Isaac that street photography does not have to contain a "street" in the literal sense of the word. To me, street photography is a reflection of the human condition - and does not have to contain a human being either. You will know it when you see it because it evokes an emotion that sets your imagination going. |

Daniel, this image is an arrangement of rectangles of various sizes; including the bricks on the far left. The textures of each square all provide different interest and the thorny vine is repeated on the reflected image of the tree in the window. The couple have their backs turned and provides the human element reflecting these times. The crop is unusual (1.80:1), and I offer a suggested crop frame which excludes the smaller window on the right and brings the couple to the thirds. Great story. |

Dan..before I comment, would you mind providing a copy of the original, with the ski boat which you mentioned cloning out? |

Throwback to times before social media - thanks for a great B&W image, Bruce! Love the well dressed man with a message to tell. Nice composition with a well defined subject. The second man with umbrella in hand is in a business suit and looks directly at the camera which adds more human interest. The cut-off at the feet does not bother me because you caught the moment! |

Les, the original uncropped version is more appealing to me because it sets and complete the details of a street environment. Beautiful street lighting as reflected on the faces on the group, particularly the persistent waiter. At first glance this appears to be a group of three (odds) and then the profile of 2nd woman appears intently listening. The only suggestion would be to desaturate the lemon yellow shopping bag and the touches of red of the woman in the background and above the waiter's head. Good capture. |

Hassan...distinctive architecture which provides leading lines and depth from the front to the back and top of the image. As Isaac pointed out the left side of the image is dark and textured with reflections and people and this is counterbalanced with the brighter right side with the lone man at the top landing which makes your image interesting. The story is up to the viewer's imagination to continue in one's mind what may happen in the next moment; the untold. Thanks for the image Hassan! |

Isaac.. well balanced composition with the left wall providing an interesting stop to frame the couple on the street. Good hand gestures and the two hands grasping each for support connects the man and woman as does the cane which becomes a quasi 5th leg. A study in contrasts - of gender and race. This is an alternative B&W version which entails a small overall crop to bring the "hands" on the thirds; kept the circular pothole which repeats on the handle of the cane and eyeglasses; added a vignette. Well done, Isaac! |
