Isaac, your edit presents a much nicer image and cleans the messy top edge. I really like the "L" formed by the left and bottom of the window "frame". |

Dan, nice B&W conversion with a wide range of tonal values and side lighting adds dimension. I like the triangulation in this image suggested by his head, his legs, right forearm and the separation of the fingers. The subject is easily recognizable and is placed in a street environment - a plain background would not add to the story. I believe eye level is at the musician's neck/harmonica; and perhaps your rising just a tad to his face so the camera is level with his face instead is a suggestion for another time. |

Bruce, nice and well composed grouping of clowns. I like the balanced composition. the cohesiveness of the group all with white faces and vibrant clothing. The clown with the bulbous nose grabs your attention with his staring looks, but then again the great catch in this image is the cornerstone face in the lower left- a real zinger! |

Interesting thread of dialogue between the original image as presented and Les' take. I tend to favor the original image. The tiny dog is action packed and to me cropping it out makes the image static (and this is reinforced by the central pole, an artificial element). The touches of the red jacket and the black dog grounds the image and leads the eye and adds depth. Thanks Daniel! |

Les, welcome to the group and I look forward to seeing your images. With this image submission you certainly caught the moment and action of the dance. I like the expression on the faces of the couple dancing and your post processing. As Isaac mentioned, the lady on the far right is a distraction because she appears to be a bystander and makes this a group of "8" - an even number. For me, the shadows add depth to the story so including the the full shadows at the bottom left if you happened to catch it would be nice touch. |

Isaac, a clear and defined subject with good lighting and a nice moment. I like the point of view which would typically what the viewer would expect from the street level. The framing of the scaffolding completes the environment and the smoker connects the interior with the exterior. The horizontals on the louvered shutters repeats the lines on his shirt and the touch of manganese blue cap brings the focus to the subject. The only minor distraction to me is that the man is dead center in the image and perhaps a closer crop to exclude part of the top and right edges may reframe the composition. |
