Glad you're back Dan and happy to see your images once again. I agree with Isaac's adjustments and cropping of the top area. This is a nice angle image with the fence enclosing the family of three. The tree on the left also serves to anchor the grouping. The colors of the girls' dresses ties in to the sculpture at the back and this makes the image work. Nice lighting producing shadows that add dimensionality to the image. I am also guilty of using the camera's automatic date stamp until I learned differently. I found the best way of removing it was to use a small "magic" wand selection tool which works on color and touch the date. This removes the offending pixels and then you can use the spot healing to fill in the desired color. |

Daniel, this image reminds me of a crossing guard who helps school children and other pedestrians cross the street. A well defined subject with an uncluttered background and placed in his element. The image is sharp and in focus; his face is revealed. He is seated because I imagine that he will be there for quite some time; the fact that he has a mask gives me the idea that the picture was taken within the last year. He's looking for the riders so he has to be alert. The long shadows gives an indication that must be near noon time. A suggestion would be to clean the right edge of the frame by cropping and excluding the back red & blue signage. I would keep the sign in the foreground because it adds to the street envronment.

Bruce, I am glad you shared the original image with us. I agree with Isaac's edits and post processing. The rule of "odds" prevail and make the composition more balanced in my opinion. Including the 3rd girl also has the effect of including the entire door in the background, which would give an added sense of depth. These ancient places always have fascinating architecture and the young children at play brings life to an otherwise old place. |

Hassan, the fact that all the pedestrians are wearing black keeps the eye moving from person to person. I like that each person is caught in a different posture, which makes the image all the more interesting. Nice unobtrusive background and the architecture of the building is unusual and a bit quirky. |

Isaac, I like the diagonal frame formed by the tree that frames the subjects. The triangular shape of the tripods and the shared activity of taking pictures link the two individuals together. It's wonderful that the father is teaching his son the proper technique of using a tripod, notwithstanding the point & shoot cameras. So many people today use an extended arm technique instead of using the eyepiece. The red shirt of the young boy draws my attention to him and makes him the star of the show. Good capture! |

Thanks Isaac. Nice cropping that changes this into a portrait format. |
