8 Oct 19 Reply Thanks for your feedback Mark. I am drawn to "infrared" images and considered converting an old camera but didn't want to carry around yet another camera. "Infrared" images usually have black skies and the foliage appears stark white - which is what I tried to reproduce in photoshop. Not quite sure I succeeded though. Oct 23rd
8 Oct 19 Comment Marcus.. I also agree with the suggestions of others to rotate and crop the image so its readable to the viewer. I like the diagonals created which frames the girl and provides an interesting camera position. Next time I'm on a train I'll have to remember to look up! Oct 23rd
8 Oct 19 Comment Snehendu, your composition is seamless, and looks like one image. Thanks for the explanation of how you composited the image - especially like the idea of using the chrysanthemum as the wings. Keep up the good work! Oct 23rd
8 Oct 19 Comment Leading lines formed by the "steps" leads the eye up and down through the image. Good idea to convert to B&W which simplifies the scene. Did you use a tripod? Oct 23rd
8 Oct 19 Comment Well balanced composition with the triangular faces and snouts of the two dogs. The layering and contrast of black against white and vice versa is what makes this image especially appealing. Catch light in both dogs gives a sense of life. Well done, Alastair! Oct 23rd
8 Oct 19 Comment Very creative idea and composition. Both images are harmonious in color. The image of the building is sharp and stands on its own as an architectural feature.

58 Oct 19 Comment Daniel - good eye for seeing this group of three and one is not like the others. The touch of red around the window frames and the geometric shapes of the triangles and rectangles all make this an interesting image. The "baby" is a touch of reality and the curves of the hammock makes a difference and nice contrast against all the straight lines.. Good job! (Agree with Isaac's adjustments) Oct 23rd
58 Oct 19 Comment Jim, good idea to convert to B&W! Layers of contrast with white against black and vice versa. The subject's hand on the sword and the curvature of the blade provide a place of special interest - and I offer an alternative crop which places his hands on the bottom thirds of the image (and the place of action on the top thirds). 58 Oct 19 Comment Dan, a very contemplative image with a wonderful sky and even lighting. I agree with the others' comments and perhaps making a deliberate crop to the edge of the man's left shoulder would draw the viewer's attention away from the edge of the image. Sometimes an intentional crop leaves the viewer to "fill in" the rest of the story. Oct 23rd
58 Oct 19 Comment Hassan, I didn't notice the doll at first. The diagonals created by the stairs add leading lines to the doll, the girl and the red ball. Very interesting image with lots of texture in the shadows. Even the round half dome of the awning helps to lead the eye back to the girl. Good capture! I agree with Isaac's adjustments. Oct 23rd
58 Oct 19 Comment BrrrrrrĂ¢â‚¬¦ I can feel the freezing cold. Nice composition and odd number of people. The subjects are framed by the ice slide which provides a clean background. The background provides an environment that adds to the richness of the image. Isaac, it's a hard choice between this photo and the second one (man w/ red coat) -which has its merits because he's in "red" and in "national garment"; plus it also shows the full length of the slide. But because his "expression" is priceless, I love the man in red. Thanks for submitting both images.
