Snehendu, . Spring is that magical time of the year and the colors are true to the season. I like the upright trees that add vertical elements to your composition and the leading lines formed by the curving benches. Dressed in black, the human figure grounds the image and adds interest to the story. |

Mark - lots of textures and leading lines which make the image interesting. I like the vertical crop w/ the horizon on the thirds and the clear layers of foreground, middle and background. The clouds could be softened just a tad, perhaps with "negative clarity". |

Alastair- your favorite square crop enhances the symmetrical image. The group of three adds interest and life to the inanimate paintings around. I also like the clean background behind the mother and child which centers the subjects. A clear winner!!! |

Sukumar, I've never tried lying flat on the floor myself, but I have used the tilt screen in my camera to capture ceiling images. ..Your framing device is very creative - to showcase your own images. Your images all have a blue, watery background which help in making a cohesive fresco and adds cool tones to the composition. Consider adding some warmth to the ceiling so as to match the overall lighting. |

Thanks for your feedback Isaac! The second time I was a little more prepared; shot in Vertical portrait mode to get the hands, and had him move to a different background. But as you mentioned - the moment was not there. One of the problems I face with being height challenged is that my camera position is always tilted :( |

Thanks for your comment Dan! As a follow up - my subject was there again the next day- this time I asked him if he wouldn't mind moving against another part of the wall a few feet away to this solid background. And I got this image and a few others as well. I gave him 4x6 prints later. |

Daniel, the lady in the "black hat" gets my vote. I believe that she carries the image all by herself and her hidden profile with red lipstick adds to the mystery. For this reason - I think she deserves a solo performance. |

Jim, the vintage look and feel works well for this image. Both participants seem happy with the results. The child aviator sunglasses is a bonus! |

Dan…working the angles to find the right camera position pays off. The various textures revealed in the sand, hut and smooth sky adds interest to your image. You managed to capture the sun on the horizon. I also like the conversion to monotone. One suggestion is possibly to back off a few feet and lower yourself in order to place the horizon lower on the thirds in order to work the scene on location. |

Hassan…I offer yet another cropped variation of the theme to add to the discussion. I used your original submission and opened up the shadows in the mid-section to reveal a "doghouse" hidden in the shadows; and flipped the image horizontally. I like the light of the tip of the boy's nose to just reveal his profile. His shadow adds another dimension to your image and life. |

Isaac…I enjoyed reading the back story of the image and its culture. Nice vibrant colors and the one that's different (vendor) makes her the center of interest. All of the various hands tell a story. Like Dan.. I believe the two school girls in red and blue detract from the story - in color, and their interest is elsewhere. I have included another version of the crop- centered on the ladies in yellow & green, plus the vendor; this makes a group of odds and makes the hands on the "lower thirds" composition wise. |
