8 Feb 18 Reply Hi Marcus...congratulations on Member showcase this month. Two zinnias...did you use a filter to get those unusual colors? Most interesting! Feb 26th
8 Feb 18 Reply All valid observations Marcus, which I didn't notice before. The lensbaby focus is extremely difficult to nail- I used a monopod, a remote shutter in a controlled environment (inside) and still felt I needed an extra pair of hands. Feb 13th
8 Feb 18 Comment Creative idea Marcus! The carvings are an unusual hobby and this is a nice way to showcase your interests. The sky background has wonderful tones of cyan and greys. You mentioned using luminosity mode which is transparent and allows for the background to show through. Perhaps experimenting with the "blend if" panel would give different results. Another suggestion might be to include whole figures in the frame, instead of the halves on the right & left edges; and a grouping of odd numbers i.e 3 or 5. Feb 13th
8 Feb 18 Comment Snehendu…this bird looks like a dove or pigeon. The bird colors are interesting and unusual. Its head is nicely angled to the viewer - with a bit of a catch light in the eyes. Getting the bird with a clean background in the environment and the use of a texture is a good compromise. Perhaps blurring or softening the background would help to separate the subject and make the bird stand out. Feb 13th
8 Feb 18 Comment Very creative idea for a gallery to showcase your work Mark and look forward to your article. Perhaps using an idea theme such as all flowers or all B&W would add some cohesiveness to a body of work. Feb 13th
8 Feb 18 Comment Nice capture in a square frame format ( and outlined by a white border to frame the dark image). Good balanced composition and lighting on the subject is good. Instead of deep black around the eye area, perhaps opening the shadows to show a tad more detail and tones as this is a natural center of focus. The seat forward intrudes into the window and detracts from a clean frame - and perhaps can be fixed using "content aware" fill. Feb 13th
8 Feb 18 Comment Amparo - the addition of a human to the original #2 adds life to your image and provides a focus point and subject. The monochromatic theme ties both images together. As Marcus suggested -perhaps providing more contrast would emphasize the subject. Feb 13th
8 Feb 18 Comment This blended composition is much more interesting than either image on its own. The combined image now has a foreground (the boat), a middle ground (the mountains) and a background (the sun) and is well balanced within the frame. The colors are beautiful and warm. Well done! 58 Feb 18 Comment A very interesting image Elizabeth! The treeman definitely tells a story and is a strong subject. I agree with Isaac's crop... the "softness" is perhaps due to using f/4. Feb 26th
58 Feb 18 Reply Thanks Isaac! Much better ..like the square format. Feb 14th
58 Feb 18 Comment Jim…great capture of a group of five girls against an uncluttered background. The group is linked together by the common T-shirts and their interaction with the balloons. The image is sharp throughout and tells a story. Feb 14th
58 Feb 18 Comment Hassan… At first, I thought they were real people - amazing! The camera settings of f/5.3 is very creative and puts the background figures in a nice blur with the main character nice and sharp. Vibrant colors and the touches of red leads you the back of the image and provides depth to this group of three. Nicely done!

58 Feb 18 Comment Isaac…you managed to get an interesting composition of the group of five although they had arranged themselves in a street environment. There is a separation between each of the main figures and their legs are composed with triangular shapes. Overall colors and natural skin tones are very nice. The woman in the center with the pink purse is the most interesting because of her eye contact and awareness of the camera. Good capture…I'm surprised the street was not more crowded. Feb 14th
58 Feb 18 Comment Daniel …an interesting image and one of contrasts. There is enough space for each of the figures to walk into and the subject is nicely balanced by the woman in the background. Isaac's crop cleans up one edge of the frame. To me, the woman in color competes with the main subject in what is an otherwise monochromatic image. I offer a B&W version and vignetted the corners as an alternative consideration. Feb 14th
