Thanks Sukumar...to me,this much better. In the version below the background was selected and desaturated and the image was cropped a bit more tightly off the top. The idea was to put more emphasis on the subject and the model. |

Marcus...your still life composition is well balanced and the shadows add to the depth of the image. Even though the flowers are not pristine..they are still beautiful because of their grace and form. You didn't mention whether you used flash..but it looks like front lighting to create the shadows. You can also affect the shadows by using a small flashlight to direct light on your subject. PSA offers an on-line Still life course with Vicki McLeod which is well worth taking and which I highly recommend. |

Snehendu..I like the limited and vibrant color palette. I also like the fluid movements of the trees. Very creative and painterly. |

Mark...very interesting subject. The leaf on the side breaks up the pattern of the bark and ties the greens together. I agree with Marcus that the top of the image is more interesting. I find the crop size a bit unusual...like a vertical panorama. I am undecided as to whether a lighter "frame" adds to the image. Perhaps a darker frame in Multiply mode would be an alternative suggestion you can try and see which you prefer. Well done! |

Dan...I agree with Marcus' comment about the mic. Since there is no eye contact with the mic, perhaps cropping the instrument out would be one solution. I do like the side lighting on this trio and the fact that the faces are clearly shown.

Interesting piece of art and the model framed within the circle adds interest. Perhaps a square crop would enhance the circular frame... as to me the background building and the concrete base of the art piece are not as interesting as the sculpture. |

Ed, Thanks for your comment and constructive feedback. Welcome to the group. Moving to the right as you suggested would have placed the patrons behind each other in a group. A wide-angle lens used permitted a separation of the patrons by placing them on the diagonal. This was at 22mm or about 35mm on my crop sensor. |

Ed... I like the side lighting on the man's face which shows an outdoor life. I see a double frame - the vendor's head is framed by the cart's window and the cart in turn is framed between the trees. I like Isaac's crop. I think this image works because the trees are bare of foliage and shows the blue sky beyond. Interesting time of the year. |

Daniel...nice camera position and nice clean background. Oddly enough the diagonal in the pavement adds dynamics to the square crop. I like the expression of the woman's face as she balances a pot on her head. I agree with Isaac's post processing...I might have added a vignette to surround the characters. I can imagine being at the scene as a spectator to the act! |

Mofassirul..I like your wide aperture/ sharp focus images. I also like the front bokeh which emphasizes the subject and the inclusion the the people in the background gives depth. I agree with Isaac's crop and straightening of the image. The boy is nicely framed by his environment and the tools of his living. You caught him in action. Well done! |

Dan... Your image this month is of an interesting character and this shows in his face and his clothing and jewelry. I prefer Isaac's crop (and PP) which includes the subject's right hand at the bottom and also his elbow. The blue tablecloth also serves to introduce another vibrant color to the image which surrounds the subject. Thank you for the back story of the image. |

Liz...interesting subject and good choice going with B&W. I agree with Isaac's panoramic crop which brings out the more interesting textures of your image. I like the bridge's ribs which act as a framing device for the biker and the mountain in the background. I also like the deep dark contrast in the lower left of the image - the deep blacks v.the white. Nice job! |

Isaac.. a well-defined subject and a well balanced composition with the man's leg on the diagonal leading to his face and the strength of his arms. The man is well placed on the thirds within the frame and both his head and his leg are at the key points of the thirds. I like the concrete pad which serves as a base to anchor the man against the backdrop of the city. The sea wall leads to the back of the image and adds depth. I like the blue building which is an RGB (Red Green Blue) palette and also serves as a bookend and brings your eye back in the image. You have given him enough room to breathe with the negative space/sky which surrounds him. Clearly a winner!! |

Angela..this is a beautiful painting. I like the unexpected touches of pink in the sky and sea and the bold use of color. To me the most interesting color is the black-green of the water which captures the depths. I also like Tom's suggestion of reversing the family. I can easily imagine being at the seaside myself. |

Tom..I also like your second version better. I like the simplicity of the painting and the green leafy background fits the painting. The flower's center is on the thirds which makes your composition more interesting. I like the rough border edges and the fade to the edges. |
