Thanks for all the great comments. In retrospect, I did not spend enough time processing the subtleties of the scene. We were on a walking tour and this was a quick shot, I think the suggestion of shooting from a lower angle is excellent. |

I agree with Sheldon's comments. They echo my thoughts exactly. |

The StarStax process has yielded very sharp star images. However, the exposure level is so low that the beauty of the scene is compromised. My personal preference would be to lighten and perhaps colorize the sky and to reveal more color and detail in the landscape portion. The technical effort in the photo is impressive. I am not a fan of star trails. |

Great creative work Peter. I like the dramatic difference between the actual face and your "Andy Warhol" interpretation. An interesting photo that is fun to look at. |

I like your composition but prefer Bev's crop from the left. Although the texture and geometry of the rocks are dramatic, the brightness does distract from the sky. For me, more sky emphasis and a little bit off the rock lighting would be an improvement. Anyway, it is a great shot. |

I like the detail in the train and the story-telling element with the engineer. However, the gate is distracting and I would like to see more of the mans face. |

A very nice capture and well-composed. The eyes are compelling and the detail features are nicely shown. |

Good technique shown in this image. I agree with Stuart that the bird features should be emphasized to show off the subject. |

I agree, that brightness should be more subdued. |

A nice composition, but very flat with not much contrast. A lot of improvement chould be achieved in post processing: color, detail, contrast. Also, a little crop from the right and bottom would help. |
