Thanks Pamela. We also stayed a couple of nights in Wiseman and were lucky enough to photograph a Hawk Owl there. It's easy to get stuck with the potholes in the road, especially in the rain when every puddle could be a hole. I'm debating if I want to go back. The biggest downside was that after 9am or so in the morning, there was too much heat distortion to photograph. Not much to other than wait until later afternoon to go out again. My friend and I waded the tundra which I loved. |

Great job making art of out this chaos. I love your approach and processing. There's nothing I would change. I even like the way your bordered it. Bravo! |

Very cool image. Obviously the original and the processed versions are switched. On the one you did process, I would consider either not cropping the right side, or would probably crop in further to just behind the flipper. It will enhance the size of the subject even more. My tendency is to go dark so my style wouldn't be to lighten it. I'd probably brush in some darkening and leave his head relatively bright. You took out the rock next to the rear guy, which looks fine to me but it didn't distract from my eye. Nice job. |

Very exciting. I can imagine the emotion during the chase and yet you still were able to keep the horizon level!!! Given the low resolution allowed I'm having a hard time seeing the prey. I see what I would have taken for rocks farther back in the picture than the diretion the cheetah appear to be running. On your original do you have a clear view of the prey? It's difficult for me to suggest an edit without seeing that but I'm guessing I would have cropped in more to enlarge the subjects. Great to have gotten these guys on the run. |

I love this crop Tom. Very dynamic and powerful, as is your subject. I wouldn't change a thing. |

My kind of image! Great wing positions and easily identifiable prey. I imagine you weren't able to change your angle to the bird or there wasn't time to do so. Even so, the action is so good it makes up for it. I make a very subtle vignette but other than that no suggestions. |

I loved this composition and the atmosphere. I thought I'd play with it and try to enhance the effects of the atmosphere. The general "rule" is that the eye goes to the light so one objective was to try to make the elk's eye the light and reduce light elsewhere. In LR i used a linear gradient along the bottom to reduce the highlights and luminosity along the bottom up to the elk's upper hip. I then brushed the lightest part of the fur on the elk's side, reducing exposure. I did that again in Photoshop. Using Luminar, I added a layered fog effect and brushed it in to make it look natural to my. eye. |
