I think this image has wonderful initial wow power and is beautiful. It's funny how some of us are drawn toward a more detailed look and some of us a more subdued dreamy look. I like both versions but favor your interpretation. I like the fade out to high key and don't mind the lack of detail there, as it's an abstract approach that fits the subject. The one thing I might change is to add a bit of room to the right so that the colored petals don't looked squeezed in. I also like the title. Very artistic. Merry Christmas |

Nice shot of this cut little Grebe. They always remind me of bathtub duckies. I think different crops might work equally well here but I think I'd try a square crop, and not worry about keeping all of the reflection. I wanted to check on Tom's point and zoomed in on both the original and the processed version and I think your wings are sharp enough. I do think that Topaz added some artifacts and to my eye, the bird looks over sharpened. I often add sharpening but mask it in or out as I think best suites the image.

I think you captured the dreamy quality that you were after. I like the different layers of color. If this were mine the only thing I would change is the straighten the horizon. Merry Christmas |

I love the line up of birds and really enjoy this image. I don't think I've ever seen a brown pelican this close to white pelicans but it makes for a great shot. The one thing I might do is add a bit of blur to the mangroves in the background and add a gentle vignette. Merry Christmas |

Wonderful image. Perfect for Christmas. I decided to play with it a bit in Lightroom and after comparing mine and yours I like a lot about yours better. I tried to emphasize the haze in the middle ground by brushing in some negative dehaze. I also burnt in some of the shadows and dodged where the light might have been hitting. You achieved better detail in the forest than I did. I thought the color of the sky was a bit yellow for my taste and made it more blue. Again, I think I like yours better but this may give you some ideas.
Merry Christmas

I like this image a lot. The bird has a wonderfully gentle takeoff pose and the high key works very well here. I see that some are bothered by the out of focus background tree. For me, I find the in focus tree to be a distraction. If this were me I'd add some blur to that area. Not as much as in the background, but a bit. I'd also dodge the eye, just a bit, to brighten it up. The upper wing seems to get a little lost in the sky. I think I'd add a little black to that portion of the wing or work with the sky to create a bit more separation. Merry Christmas |
