To me this is a crazy fun creative image and the more abstract the better. I'm also drawn to the wonderful curve of green but think everything adds to the carnival feeling this image evokes in me. I think I would attempt to reduce the luminance of the white portion of the flower on the right in particular, and some of the purple surrounding it to direct more attention to the green curve. Creative as always! |

I also like the curves commented on by the others. I might darken the large stem that goes up behind the flower, to bring a bit more of the flower out. Maybe lighten the flower as well. On the bird, I would try to see if I could reduce the highlights on the side of the head. When I enlarged the image it looks like you captured some detail there that could be enhanced by lowering the highlights a bit. Pretty bird. |

Very pretty gull and I like it against the gray rocks. I tend to agree that I would crop it tighter and might burn the rocks just a touch. |

I agree with everyone's comments and like the image a lot. I might have cropped somewhere between your final and the original but I favor yours over the original as it emphasizes the chicks. |

I like the grouping and different wing positions and I think you cropped it nicely. I agree with Sharon's point about the sky. If I may, I taught birds in flight for many years and spend most of my time with flight shots and will share this experience. Don't sacrifice shutter speed over concerns about ISO. As Sharon showed in the image she shared, noise is relatively straightforward to deal with in post. You used 1/2000, which was sufficient for this subject. But if you have having sharpness issues, don't be afraid to shoot at 3200, 4000 or even 5000. The faster the bird and the more it flaps, the faster the shutter speed needed to stop the action. Good luck and nice picture! |

Nice pose with all the elements of the nesting story. Well told. My only suggestion would be to reduce the luminesce of yellow in the leaves, if that is allowed under the rules. It would help pull more attention into the subjects. |
