I agree with everyone's comments. If I was taking this on I would use auto focus and choose a background, as you did, far enough behind the subject to increase the odds that the camera would lock on the target. And, I would take lots of shots. 1/3200 would have rendered the bee sharp, but if light permitted I would go faster. |

Love it and am envious of having nests at your house and being able to follow the life cycle of these beauties. I can't add anything to the other suggestions. Great shot. |

Wonderful image Tom. I love crazy hair chicks. My suggestion would be to flightless add more blur to the background, darkening the highlights there as well. That, and a subtle vignette would emphasize the subjects. Nice work. |

Nice image and I like the side lighting. I might consider making a tighter crop, higher up on the hawk's body. I would also increase the exposure a bit on the bird. You might also be able to very slightly brighten the yellow of the eye while remaining mindful of the light angle. |

I agree with everyone's comments. Brightening the tongue of our talking goose might help in that regard as well as directing attention to the star of the show. The white behind the head could be lightened a bit too. Nice image at the perfect moment. |
