Thanks Ann. It was shot in October but had some pretty pink. They are more colorful in the spring, particularly their orange tail feathers, or at least that's been what's noticeable to me. Happy Thanksgiving! |

I think masking and dodging and burning are two things that improve images the most. In this case, I see what you were going for the the colors look unrealistic to me, too much of a good thing maybe. I played with it making several different selections with the goal gently bringing out the colors in the turtles and reducing the contrast and highlights in the background and the little island. I also added a linear gradient from the lower right corner toward the center adding some clarity. Frankly, I'm not happy with my result but it may convey my idea better than my words. |

I think your interpretation would look nice. Maybe because I saw the landing it's hard for me not to see it in a still shot so he doesn't look off balance to my eye. But I get your point. I think, after considering your comment, that I did over darken the background. Thanks |

Nice picturesque nature scene. I like the grouping of the turtles and Great Grey. The horizon looks a bit off to me. I might also slect the bird, turtles and the little island that they are on, and try to bring out more of the colors. Maybe reducing hightlights, opening up the shadows and adding some vibrance. Very nice. |

Beautiful scene and I like the road climbing over the hills in the valley. The horizon looks a bit off to me, higher on the left than the right but if that fixing that throws off the foreground trees I would leave it as is, or mess with the trees in Photoshop to straighten them. The trees on the right do look like they are leaning and would be corrected if the horizon was adjusted. |

I agree with Judith's comments. Very nice shot with wonderful wing and tail feathers spread. You did a great job recovering the bird's colors which look very natural to me. I might crop in slightly tighter, taking some off the left and maybe less off the bottom. |

I like it. Nice pose for the deer with all four legs showing and eye contact. I agree you did a wonderful job bringing up the exposure and dealing with the noise, which is not noticable to me at all. If this were mine, I'd take out the broken log in front of the deer, which attracts too much of my eye's attention. I might also crop just a bit of the left side to remove some of the brightness back there, and I wouldn't lighten it up as much - maybe. I'd have to do it and compare. Nice job. |

A perfect Thanksgiving treat. Very nice. I like your crop which places the turkey's head in a dynamic position. My only suggestion would be to darken the blacks a bit as they look a bit washed out. It would also darken the red of the turkey's wattle. |
