Thanks everyone. I'm traveling with limited internet access. I appreciate the comments. I believe the Seminole Tribe caused trees to form like this as location markets. I saw a couple of others when hiking some back trails in the glades. |

Good thought. In looking at it now I think I would desaturate the top portion more, or crop it as you suggest. Thanks |

Polly, do you happen to know what's the best time to photograph the otters when there are babies that aren't able to dive yet? I was there several years ago and there were several pups, but they were old enough to dive and while cute, weren't as cute as the little ones. Thanks |

I always look forward to what you are going to come up with. When I click on the images they open very large which exagerates the jpg artifacts that I believe were generated during post processing. It looks like halos were created when the exposure and contrast were adjusted which does give it a look, but it's hard for me to get over my prejudice that they are unwanted artifacts. The leaves do look a bit like boxing gloves. I also see see creatures, like shrimp on the left and a fish on the right. I'll always favor creativity over realism so congrats on continuing to think out of the box. |

I also like your crop and love the dramatic sky and waves. I'd probably prefer the color version but it might be fun to play with it in black and white. Nice job! |

Very nice. You have nice separation between the bird and its background and I like the dynamic pose. I would have preferred if the bill was angled a bit toward you but, as always, we get what we get and it's certainly a keeper. I agree with taking out the bit of dark water, which I find distracting. However, as long as generative fill is in the game why not ask it to provide a natural perch? The rear toes on the bird look a bit strange to me and something vegetative could be used to cover it a bit. Maybe cloning in a branch from another image or using AI. Nice fun image. |

Wonderful image. I love how the snow frames the coyote and the intense look on its face. I wouldn't change a thing. |

I love your post processing of this image. It brought out a lot of beauty that I think I would have overlooked. From a compositional point of view, it looks like a path on the left that comes out of the left corner. To me, it creates some imbalance . Plus, the brightness on the left also attracts my attention. It might be worth a look cropping off the left side. |

Hi Polly. Welcome to the group. You're starting out with a strong one. Such wonderful expression. I was at Point Reyes once and watched as they released some of the pups who had lost their mother. It's a wonderful place. Your crop is perfect in my opinion for this seen and I like the low contrast which seems consistent to the bond between mother and calf. Wonderful. |
