40 Aug 23 Comment Hi Catherine. Andrew sometimes asks me to comment on your group's nature images. To me, the star of the show is the lowered wing. Unfortunately, the face looks soft to me. The image looks a bit underexposed to me. If you were in any auto setting, that is to be expected without a good bit of positive exposure compensation. A bright sky may require plus 2 or more. However, without selecting the bird and creating a difference in tonality with the sky, it might blend in. If you use Lightroom, the new masking tools make this very easy. Aug 12th
40 Aug 23 Comment Hi Henry. Andrew sometimes asks me to comment on nature images in your group. I love the picture. The dawn has an adorable expression and nice body position. My only suggestion would be to leave a little more space at the bottom, so the legs don't run out of the picture, and crop a bit more out on the left, which seems too empty to my eye. If the subject was looking that direction I might not suggest that. Nice work. Aug 12th

52 Aug 23 Comment I think this is a mottled duck but not certain. To answer your question, either the depth of field was to shallow ( my guess) or the chicks were moving and 125 wasn't fast enough to freeze their motion. I would suggest removing ot toning down the bright rock in front of mom. Aug 10th
