I not familiar with that contest, rules, past winners and history, so unfortunately I'm not in a position to say. |

I love your creativity. I'm guessing that you didn't need to upsize your image since it resulted in an enormous file after Gigapixel. Just in case you weren't aware, I'm pretty sure your phone can natively take raw images. If not, you can download the Lightroom App for fee and it shoots in raw.
I might dodge the bird's face that's looking at you just enough to make that easier to see. It's probably more apparent on your screen than what I can see posted here. I also like the patterns and symmetry. My mind isn't made up on whether I like the tilted horizon or not. Here's a crazy idea: what if you duplicated the layer and flipped the duplicated layer horizontally and use it and this layer to form an inverted V, three coming from the right and three from the left? |

I like how the feel are splayed out, giving the feeling of a student flyer. I'm not sure how much detail there is to work with but you can try dodging the adult's face with one of many methods. I would do it selectively with a brush and not over the entire subject. I'd also suggest removing the white spots on the water which pull my attention away from the action. |

Pretty. I keep bouncing between original and processed versions and like them both. Just trying to thin abstractly I might even more strongly alter the white petals and add more blur or effects to them. Maybe add a white vignette that fades far into the scene giving just a hint of the petals. |

How lovely. I admire your editing and think it turned out wonderfully. My only thought (not even a suggestion) might be to see how it looked after removing the driftwood on the right. I think it would make this very successful image even stronger. Maybe even take out the portion of branches to the left of the main tree. Nice work. |

Love it! One of my favorite hawks and nice that you got it close to the ground. I suggest doing a bit of dodging on the body, which looks a tad dark to me. I think I would add a blur layer, with a substantial amount of gaussian blur, then add a black mask so that you can paint the blur in where you want it. I'd blur the grass along the bottom as well as in the background below and in front of the bird. I think it would help the subject stand out even more. |

I think it would make a great notecard or print for any use. It's beautiful. It would be a perfect image to experiment with the concept that our brain prefers looking from left to right. Why not flip it and see which one you like better? My only suggestion pertains to the feathers on the back of the head. They look to me to be slightly soft or possibly your detail application on the subject did not catch those feathers. I'd compare it to the raw and see if you might be able to get a bit more from that area. If not, no big deal. Nice work. |
