Hi Catherine, Andrew invited me to comment on your group's nature images. I agree with Julie although there are some small patches of white that look to me a blown out. If the original is like that, I might clone in some detail from adjacenet feathers. I like to dodge and burn and think I might dodge a bit where the bird's legs enter the water and maybe just a slight bit on its chest. The image appears to me to be slightly tilted, which might be an optical illusion from the scene. I'd suggest seeing how it looks rotated slightly clockwise. Nice work. |

Hi Julie. Andrew invited me to comment on your group's nature images. I like your crop but may have left a little bit more room at the top, a very minor subjective point. Comparing the original to the processed version, it appears that you have increased the exposure. I might have reduced the highlights in the white water which I think would retain more detail in that area. I like the furled wing tip and nice eye contact, and the action of the scene in general. I generally like to keep the horizon, in this case the edge of the water, from cutting through my subject, but this is again only a minor issue with this image since the background is dark and helps bring out the pelican's head. Nice work.

As usual, you are creative. It's a very interesting and lovely piece of work. My only suggestion would be to dodge the frame on the left side which is a bit difficult to make out. Keep thinking outside of the frame! |

Great job with wonderful colors. I might crop some of the space off the left side and make it into a vertical. Other than that I don't have any additional suggestions. |

Nice grouping of these beauties. I love their body position. I'm undecided if I would take out the grass in the forground, or maybe add some on the left side, if that's something you are ok doing. The little bit of grass on the right side, almost cropped out, I would take out. Laskly, I might dodge the middle sheep just a bit. The thought occurred to me, so I'll share it, that I might remove where the middle sheep's left horn touches the on the on the right, so there's a little separation there. (A nitpik) Also, the thought occurred to me that if I were going for full artistic license, I'd add falling snow. Of course I'd have to learn how to do that but I'm sure it could be done. Bravo |

Absolutely beautiful. What a scene! The Land of Hiawatha deserves this one. There's really nothing I would suggest but I'll share some thoughts that ran through my mind as I was looking at it. I might take a crack at enhancing the haze with some selective and subtle use of the dehaze slider, particularly toward the top of the falls. Also, to my eye, the enhancement of the orange tree to the right and in back is stealing some attention from the falls and I might keep it closer to the original. I think I would also burn in the foreground water a bit. I like what you have edited out and as is find this a magnificent image. |
