Hi Lin, this is Mike from group 52. Andrew invited me to take a look. I agree with all of Don's comments and the cut off ear bothers me as well. I felt that both the yellows and the greens were too saturated. As to the crop, for me, when I cut something off that doesn't look natural to my eye I tend to take it further. I played with it a bit to show you what I mean. I also added a bit of light to the eyes without making them look like Halloween I hope. |

Hi Julie. This is Mike from Group 52. Andrew invited me to come have a look. I think you did a masterful job. Flipping the image vastly improved it in my opinion. I normally don't like a complicated background, but the birds tonality matches that background and provides a good environmental. I might select out the subject and reduce the highlights of the background and maybe add a slight blur or glow to it to further separate the subjets. I love your crop and processing of the birds themselves. They look more crisp and colorful than the original. Nice work. |

My favorite bug. I've never seen one in Florida but would love to spend some time photographing them. Very interesting shot and lighting. I could see it as the cover of a mystery novel. There's no original so I can't see if you had more canvas to work with but a minor point is having one antenna cut off. I think the lighting caught the dust on the window in the dark section of the image only, which I find slightly distracting and I would consider removing them. |

Nice job getting a sharp image under those conditions. Compositionally, the wing looks too close to the bottom and the tail to the edge. I'd add some to those two areas. I also try to avoid cutting my subject with the horizon but doubt that you had an option when taking this shot. |

Very nice image and I like the composition a lot. I feel for the little guy. I believe the image is a bit underexposed, which has rendered the white snow a middle grey. I'd add a stop or two and see what you think. |

Great job. I like that both antennae are both clearly visible. It does look a touch too dark for my taste and I would look at it a bit brighter to see a comparison and decide. |

I think this image is fantastic. I love the fact that focus is only on the subject and the composition is wonderful. Bravo! |

People either love predation shots or detest them. I'm in the love camp. Great image. My only suggestion would be to play with the background a bit to help create a little more separation between it and the subject. Love it. |
