Thanks everyone for your comments. I agree completely. In addition to your comments, I am bothered by the lack of detail in the red feathers, probably as a result of the tight crop. The biggest problem for me is that the beetle is hidden by the bird's body. I'd rank this as close but that only counts in horseshoes! Mike |

I love your imagination. This image completely works for me. It's both realistic and abstract at the same time and the colors are luscious. I think it's perfect as is. Bravo! |

What a fun image. I like the framing. I might try to add a bit of contrast to see if I liked it or not. A slight S curve in PS is one way of doing that. I might also darken the large tree limb or trunk to add some separation from the giraffe. It might even be worth removing it entirely and just leaving the branch, but that would take a good bit of work. Nice shot. |

I love this image. The tight crop works beautifully and the image retains wonderful detail. I don't have any suggestions but if I stretch and nitpick, I'd remove the tiny white spot on the back green feathers and the one longer one on the blue feathers. |

Great work Sharon. That had to be a wonderful experience. I thought you did a great job in post as well as in everything that went into getting the image. I'm not totally settled on it but thought the space on the bottom somewhat weighed down the image and I also thought it might look more dynamic if the wings were slightly diagonal to the frame. I took a hand at it, selecting the butterfly and adding some adjustments to the darks to try to bring out a slight bit more detail there. On the background I changed the color and luminosity a bit and re-cropped the image. I might, in PS, add a slight bit of the space in that was lost by tilting the image. |
