Nice fun scene. Who doesn't like pumpkins? As I've just written in response to some of the other's images, I'm often not a fan of HDR when a realistic look is the objective. Not that I don't use it, I just use it as a separate layer in PS and often use just portions and reduce the opacity of the portions I do use. (Not to be a hypocrite, sometimes I just go with the HDR result.) I like the slope of the hill and the path. The field does look cluttered to me but that's the nature of the subject. The sky looks a bit unreal to me, particularly the upper right corner. I think I'd crop off some of the top anyway which would alleviate that area. |

Love it! This flower is gorgeous and has a nice painterly look to it which is lovely. When I opened your original, I liked the environment and may have not cropped but instead removed some of the "crying children" that bothered me. Particularly, the one along the left edge. Even if I left more space, I'd probably reduce the luminosity as you did of the background to let the star shine. Great shot. |

Thanks Sharon. The areas that looked over-sharpened to me were the pine trees, except the one in the right hand lower corner. It didn't look grossly oversharpened and it's possible it wasn't at all but just looked like that due to the HDR process. My taste runs against those programs which often add a look that subtly bothers me. I'm having a hard time putting it in words but it's just an effect that sometimes works but often does not.
Also, I agree that the image needed some blue. The original you shared does seem to have a yellow color cast.
Again, I love the image and would be a proud owner. |

What a scene! Both the hills and the sky are killer. This is such a nice shot I couldn't resist playing with it. Without seeing the original images it's not possible to say if the automatic blending of the images produced the best result. In my processing, it often doesn't. Sometimes I use the HDG produced by LR, my usual program for making an HDR, as another layer to blend into the image in PS. In other words, taking the parts I like from that layer and using parts of the original images, manually selecting portions from each exposure. I'm getting better at luminosity masking which is challenging but effective. For your image. I cropped off some of that lovely sky, dodged the clouds int the valley, and using painting with color and contrast, tried to add more punch to the colors in the hills. I finished with a slight vignette. |

I love the composition with the river leading to the pine tree and a nice sky. However, the image looked like it needed more punch and had a kind of over sharpened look on my monitor. I did some dodging and burning in LR to emphasize the river. I also added some light to the sky and finally punched up the vibrance using NIK's Tonal Contrast. |
