I like both the male and female of this species and have a half baked call with my voice and sometimes pretend to be having a conversation with the males when they are displaying. I don't mind the twigs above the bird and think it would look good with or without them. The eye has a look that makes me think the birds nictitating membrane was present. I'm all for fixing it.
