Thanks for all the great feedback. It's nice to get objective opinions. I'm still not sure about this image and will let it stew awhile longer. |

Good feedback, thanks Lisa. That gray branch is its leg but now that you point it out I totally agree. I should have gone with the extreme crop which would have solved both issues, but left me with a very small file size. |

Here in Florida, no matter where you are, vultures are in the sky. We have mostly Turkey but quite a lot of Black Vultures as well. I'm imagining a shot from further back, showing the vulture of the chimney as kind of a nursery rhyme story. Whenever the sky is bright, it's necessary to add exposure compensation when using Aperture priority, at least one stop. On a very bright sky sometimes as much as 3 stops. It looks to me like you didn't need to brighten the bird up as much as you did. They are black and I can see both luminance and color noise induced by the brightening. I'm glad there's someone other than me that likes these guys. |

I like bats a lot and I think you did a good job bringing out the detail of the individuals close to the trunk. I do like the two that are leaning out from the trunk as they have a cleaner background. Possibly the dynamic range for those two was too extreme? |

I like the pattern and colors. My tastes and biases don't lean toward this type of image so I would discount my opinion. I'm at a bit of a loss what to look at. Maybe if the contrast were increased it would look more graphic and make a different statement. I might also remove the leaf in the middle of the lower clear water area as it stands out and is distracting to me. All that said, It's pretty and interesting. |

Very pretty and the flower is in perfect shape and a real beauty. I think the dark lower right corner balances the upper left but I would crop a bit off the top, still leaving the flower room to "breathe" but removing some of the more distant leaves. Pretty! |

I like the different wing positions and position of these beautiful subjects. To my eye, the image looks underexposed. You might have had to blow out the sky to get the swans whiter. I can see a white halo around the birds which may have been induced or heightened by the adjustments that were made. I sacrificed the sky and brightened up the whole image and added some sharpening. |

I had an immediate wow reaction to your image which hasn't dissipated. This is one that could be processed a lot of different ways and I could see myself playing with it for a long time. Here are some thoughts in no special order. I'm not sure why you cropped a bit off the left. I see the tree as the star of the show and personally would have not cropped that side. I like what you did with the orange, although I can see what Lisa is talking about. Orange is my favorite color so I'm biased. However, I like the color of the moss on the tree in the original. I'd probably play with lots of different luminosity color based masks and see if I could get the best of all worlds. Lastly, the mid ground seems too detailed to me. I think I put add the original as a layer, mask it out and then paint in a light tough of the original to make that area less prominent than the tree. Strong image. |
