From the reviews and I've read or watched it looks like a winner. Let me know what you think once you get your hands on it and have a chance to test it out. I'm particularly curious as to the dynamic range improvement and how high you get go with ISO. Thanks for the feedback on the image as well. |

Thanks Lisa. When I add a glow it is what is also referred to as an Orten effect. Basically, a blurred layer and a sharp layer are combined. It may be too soft but I have found that with this effect it needs to be viewed larger than we can view it here in order for it to lose the look of softness. Or maybe it's soft.
I'm curious as to what the others feel about the colors.
Looking forward to shots of Glade Grist Mill. Maybe I'll put that on my future travel list as well.

Terrific shot Judith. The implied blossom makes me want to watch this until it blooms. It's like still action. You did a great job in post as well in my opinion. Very nice bokeh and the sharpness is right where it counts. There's nothing I would change. |

Welcome Vinoth. I'm primarily a bird shooter so this appeals very much to me. I like a clean background, as you have here, behind the subject. I also like the composition leaving a nice space for the bird to be looking into. I would suggest a bit of dodging and burning. It is backlit and a bit of the crown looks blown to me. I might burn that in with the same color. I'd also very slightly dodge the chest. Interestingly, I could only see how very sharp your focus was when I opened the image up to see it larger. Tack sharp. Nice work. |

Hi Ally, welcome to our group. This image looks like you've been shooting macro for a living. I'm not experienced myself at it, but have had very mixed results the few times I've played. Lovely composition placing the grasshopper against a clean background. Lovely colors and you nailed focus with the thin margin you were working with right where it needs to be. My only suggestion, would be to clone out that little bit of a plant that is along the left edge. I might even add some space to that side as I'm very free with working with images without regard to reality. I might also remove the bud under the stem all the way to the right, although I'm more neutral about that one. It might also make sense, but you'll have to play with it, to reduce the luminosity of the leaves on the right lower corner so as not to compete with the grasshopper. I'd also add a very slight vignette. You could ignore all of my suggestions and still have a winner. |

I like your crop, which created order out of what was a complicated but beautiful scene. The flowers are well separated from the background. My only suggestion would be to add a very slight vignette along he bottom and sides up the the edge of the lower section of vegetation. |

Gorgeous image Pamela. I like your crop of the foreground. My initial reaction was to the large pink cloud looking a bit too uniform. In comparing it to the original I can see the bright area which is much whiter than the surrounding pink. My suggestion would be to reprocess a bit to achieve that which I think would add more dimension to the cloud. If you used an automatic function to create the HDR, you could use your finished result and put your original layer on top of it as a layer, masking out all but those portions you want to use.
I might also look at it brightened up a bit. Maybe not universally but possibly gradually going from the lower left into the image. Just a bit so it's not noticeable. And maybe lighten up the shadows a wee bit.
This one would look good on any wall. |

It looks like a dancer with it's arms spread. I like the repeating pattern in the background and the flower reaching for the sky. My only suggestion would be to add just a bit more space to where the ends of the leaves approach the image border. The lower one, in particular, creates some tension in my coming so close to the edge. Very nice! |

Hi Lisa. If you Google "Crystal Mill" you'll find out how to get there and lots of other details. Here's a link that may help:
