Hi Judith. Frankly, I have no idea why I named it high key as I don't think it is. What I think of as high key is something like white on white, or an image purposefully overexposed and the dark parts stand out in contrast. Not sure what I was thinking. Thanks for pointing that out and for your very nice comments. |

Thanks Sharon. The brown lines are trees but I don't like them either. |

Bracketing would work if there's no movement. (Wind).
Otherwise, If a single shot is outside your sensors dynamic range, I recommend exposing for the white and using the lowest ISO possible. You can bring the shadows up in post and deal with the noise but you can't recover blown highlights.
I hope this helps |

Very pretty and a beautiful specimen. I recognize the challenges you mention but think you did a good job reducing their impact. I think I would darken some of the background, leaving the flower and some leaves as they are but darkening the rest. The reflections don't bother me. I can't tell from this small jpg but are the whites along the top blown on your image? You might want to see if you can reduce the highlights in that area to bring back some texture like there is on the underside white area. Nice job. |

Bravo, I think you did! I love the feet placement and that we can see the whole bird. the background is perfectly complementary. If I wanted to nitpick, I'd clone out the little bit of stem at the right end of the perch. Also, the blue, at least on this little jpg, looks a bit blocked up. If it's like that on the raw you might be able to recover something by reducing the blue channer, color, or whatever other methods are out there. Congrats. |

This is a good with attitude. I love it. Makes me smile. I like that the head cleared the color separation which I think ands some dynamism to the picture as a whole. |

I love this color combination. It generates a mellow feeling in me that made me immediately get up to make a cup of coffee! I think I would try to bring out more clarity in the wave top and do some dodging and burning to emphasize that area. In comparing to the original, is there a chance that you submitted a different original? The waves look different to me. |

I think this is a powerful portrait. The composition is perfect A bit of the whites are blown but they are such a small area and that's the light side that I don't mind. However, you might see if any detail in those areas is recoverable. I notice the eyes are a different color, which I'm guessing they truly are. However, I would just check your other images just in case it's the effect of different lighting on each eye. If it were mine, I owuld tone down the green in the background. It does not look natural to my eye and competes with the tiger. Nice one! |

Beautiful image Sharon. I think it is perfect as is. In first thinking about it, I thought of suggesting cropping in on the left a bit and adding some space on the right, but I don't think I would. I think the head placement is nice and I don't mind the wing stretch heading for the border as my attention goes straight to the head and reflection. Nice job. |
