52 Jul 19 Comment This hard working little guy looks like it's loaded with pollen. Great job catching it in flight. The crop looks good to me although I might take a little more off the top as I don't think the top of the flower adds anything to the story and it looks as if the clipping, so close to edge, might have been accidental. There's a little bright area behind the center of the flower that I would tone down on clone in some color. Jul 12th
52 Jul 19 Comment I'm with Carol and Lisa on the crop. I love the dripping water and the expression on the monkey's face is delightful. Nice catchlights. I might burn in along the lower and left side just a bit and the the water looks just a little tilted to me. Very nice! Jul 12th
52 Jul 19 Comment I love the action and greatly enjoy the position of the bird's wings. Very dynamic. I like the action in the water and a clear look of the talons on the fish. My suggestions would be to crop in a touch and add a subtle vignette. If there is data, I might also reduce the highlights on the tail feathers which appear a bit blown out to me. That often happens when I photograph eagles and I will sometimes clone in some texture from surrounding feathers in small areas that are blown. Nice one! Jul 12th
52 Jul 19 Comment I love this one. I like the placement of the rose in the composition and think the leaves provide a perfect contrast to set it apart. the graduation of the colors on the pedals is just lovely. Wonderful job. I can't think of a thing to suggest. Jul 11th
52 Jul 19 Comment Very nice composition. I enjoyed looking around the scene and taking in the volcano in the background with interesting clouds above it, to the logs and flowers of the foreground. I think it's a very good image that might benefit from some additional processing. I agree with Lisa, and to me, the luminosity of the original, in the foreground, is more pleasing. I would paint in some burning on the ground leading toward the volcano. The clouds I think contain a lot of detail that could be brought out subtlety, and increase interest in that area. They also appear, on my monitor, to have a yellow cast that I would lessen or eliminate. Probably just lessen. The new texture slider in adobe might work well in this image and help it pop a bit more. II think it is a very deserving image. Jul 11th
52 Jul 19 Comment Very pretty butterfly and the entire composition is pretty. However, I agree with Lisa's comments. Recognizing that there are always exceptions, I try to avoid intersections or overlaps. The antenna, being an important element, unfortunately overlap the background branch which I think adversely affects the composition. I would dodge the dark body of the wing and might slightly burn in the upper portions which appear brighter, careful not to take away the backlit effect on the wing. I'm glad you provided a top view of the butterfly. It's a beautiful creature. Jul 11th
