Thanks everyone. I'm a bit confused by your comment Lisa regarding the blue thing. Could it be the shadow of the bird that is coming out blue on your monitor? If it's directly under the bird, that's what it is. It looks fine on my monitor. If not, let me know where you see it in the image. Thanks |

Smiles all around. I think you caught the moment. I like its tail swinging behind it, conveying the motion of the squirrel. Lots of fun in this shot. The only suggestion I have would be to sharpen up the eye a face a bit. By the way, I love the foot! |

I love this image. It looks perfect to me. I like the ability to see the leaves which make a perfect contrast of green to the orange moth. Great job on your settings to get everything in sharp focus. Bravo |

Nice shot John. I've never seen their eggs before, so this is a treat for me. My suggestion would be to either burn in the area around the birds or add a vignette, reducing the contrast or raising the shadows in those areas. I think I would also darken and very slightly desaturate the greens in order to make the birds stand out even better. |

Nice one Lisa. I kind of like the line up of little islands in the original. If I kept that I may or may not have replaced the ripply water at the top.
I like vignettes to be unnoticable. On my screen, it comes out as a large circle around the center. Generally when I have a smooth foreground or background I'm very light with any vignette, as they may show up too much. Maybe a smaller circle with a very large feather, or no vignette at all would be to my taste.
I think I would also paint in some exposure on the bird itself as it looks a bit dark to my eye. |

Spectacular is the word for this image. It's fantastic. The only suggestion I would make is that there appears to be a slight magenta cast on the rocks which I think I would at least partially adjust for, and maybe add some sharpening to the foreground. Alternatively, possibly add some black which would have the appearance of sharpening and add some definition to the rocks as well. Wonderful image Carol. I think it would look great framed. |

I can appreciate the difficulty factor with such a small swift bird. Bravo for getting it. I like your treatment and final composition. However, my immediate reaction to the image was it looked under exposed. I thought I'd play and brought it into LR. I painted in some exposure on the belly, as well as the area behind the head between the wings, increasing highlights and the whites a bit. I desatured the belly a bit, which came out a bit yellow on my monitor. I also painted in some texture and sharpness on the wings. Al these changes were a bit subtle and may not come across will with the small attachment but it's submitted for your consideration. |
