I thought it looked a little weird too and tried to clean it up, just a bit, in the head area. Good point. |

I can imagine walking down this path as the image effectively puts me there. I like the way you cropped it, creating a line of trees as a nice diagonal border, with the last tree leaning in at the end showing the blossoms. I think I would do some dodging and burning, maybe darkening the distant background a bit and the path itself. |

Great shot with a wonderful pose and dramatic lighting. I love when each wing feather is separated as captured here. Great eye contact and the setting is perfect. You did a great job removing and distractions so that the bird pops out of the image. One thing I might do, is remove the portion of what I assume is a log, that extends from behind the front log on the right side of the image. I think the composition would be stronger without it. Congrats. |

Nice action shot John. This Great Blue is much deeper in the water than I usually see them go. Great job. On my monitor, there appears to be a blue color cast and the blues, on the lore and especially at the end of the feathers on the foremost wing appear unnatural. That would be easy to check and see if adding some warmth would look better. Lastly, I think the horizon needs a bit of straightening. The water looks a bit tilted to me. |

If I would have looked at all the flower images I could have just written one comment! Another very different but beautiful composition. I like the grouping and the white petals in the lower left, which I think balance the image perfectly. The only thing I might do, is remove the tall stalk that rises above the white petals in the lower left, or at least fade it substantially. I would also remove the extension of the branch that goes past the flowers diagonally, cutting it off where the leaves end, as well as removing the darker green blade that is on the far right side and intersects the twig extension that I just suggested removing. A vignette might also be worth checking. All that said, this is a wonderful image just as it is. |

You guys are killing it with the flowers. I could almost repeat everything I just wrote on Sharon's image. I particularly like your processing. Fading out the rear flower, which I think is important to the composition, adds power to the prime flower. It looks like you added some green tonality to the white portion of the background, at least on my screen. I like that effect and think it improved the image. If I were playing, I might darken the background that looks black in the original, just a touch. As bright as it is, it looks like a wall showing more texture than the white area beneath it. I also like the removal of the third flower which would have stolen some of the thunder from the star flower in front. Wonderful job Carol. |

I love this image and all the thought and work that you put in paid off. Immediate wow factor. Comparing it to the original, I also admire your approach. The colors on the finished image are perfect and the glow coming from the lemony yellow is superb. I wouldn't change a thing.
I think your framing plan will look great. I'm a big fan of metal and think the light would just pour out of this image on metal.
Congrats! |
