Thanks Judith. I'm glad it made you smile. The background was just an overcast sky.

Thanks Carol. The white background was natural to the image, although I had to do some color correcting. I"m not sure what else I may have done. Attached is a jpg from the raw with no adjustments other than possible cropping. |

I love this image. The composition keeps my interest as I see the reflection of the leave in the water droplet and the little sun star there. I like the little point to the yellow leave, which looks a little evil to me and adds some interest. A beautiful image. |

What a nice experience. I've only seen a few white morph's, always a treat. There's a debate as to whether the Great White Heron is a color morph, subspecies or independent species. If your interested Sibley has a nice summary available on line.
Your aperture rendered the grass very sharp. I think I would see what it looked like if you lowered the saturation and luminosity of the greens and yellows a bit, just to add some separation from the nice bird. Great angle on the head and the eye is very sharp. Nice job. |

A beautiful eagle with strong eye contact. It looks like you were able to get very close. Congrats. The negatives, for me, are the intersection of the eagle's head with the tree trunk and the tangle of branches around it. Obviously, it is what it and I'm sure I would have taken it too. |

I have a feeling that this image doesn't do justice to how lovely an area of the park this is. To my taste, the flowers and plants along the edge somehow would need to be made more the star of the show but my eye almost immediately travels to the jumble of logs which in the background, which leads to what looks like a building along the top of the hill. I think you had a good idea but I'm guessing it wasn't possible to get down low enough to pull it off. You might try cropping off the top to direct the attention to the flowers but I'm not sure the angle of view will work. |

Gesuntheit! I love the perspective of the bird. Although I would prefer there not to be twigs in the background, my personal preference, the fact that they frame the eagle and help tell the takeoff story make them important. It would be possible to remove them in PS, but then where would the bird be lifting off from? I see a little softness in the wing feathers, which would be expected from your shutter speed. I generally go no slower than 1600 for large birds to keep the wing tips sharp, and would prefer 2500 or 3200. |

I think it has great gallery potential. I really like how the secondary stems bend away from the stars of the show and the black background is dramatic. Depending upon the rules, the one suggestion I would make would be to try to even up the intensity of teh highlights on the flowers so they are of relatively equal brightness. Light dodging would do the trick. Wonderful image Sharon. |
