Hi Andrew. I'm from Group 52, just visiting your group. Living in Florida, a bird mecca, I'm attracted to bird photography. I like your image a lot. I like the behavior of the bird and the double fence line. I'm not sure if it was done in post or just turned out that way, but I like the vignetting and highlights on the subject, but to my taste it is a little too strong. If done in post, I would lighten up the effect to make it more subtle. I might also dodge a bid of the darker feathers to lighten them up just a hair. The colors look great, as does the clean background. Nice job. |

Your reasoning is absolutely valid. I always consider what others say about my images but in the end am guided by my own feelings. Great image. |

Nice shot, with him all puffed out and far enough from the background for separation. I'm not sure but it may be an immature Cooper's Hawk. If you have other shots that show the eye, it should be yellow if a Cooper's. Also a long looking tail. I am partial to clean backgrounds but not much to do about it here, or generally with woodland hawks. That said, I would clone out the one stick that comes from the lower right and hits him low on the chest. There might be a slight yellow color cast. You'll have to experiment on the original in order to determine if there is and if you want to remove it. I don't see any noise, so 1250 on your camera works well. |

You can probably guess my reaction, I love it. Great subject, wing positions, eye contact, background and colors. I like the position of the bird in the frame. Excellent in every regard. |

Beautiful nest. It could be anything but our redwing blackbirds make similar nests in similar settings around here. Maybe slightly smaller. I don't have any suggestions for the image to share. |

Hey, it's Uncle Joe! Cool shot with clean background and tack sharp focus. The only consideration that takes away from the image is the nictitating membrane partially covering the beautiful eye. Although, I never knew it had the texture shown here, which is quite interesting. I think I would also lighten up the neck a bit to bring out some of those feathers. |

Just terrific. I love the point of view, angle and color of the fish and background. Lots of wow factor. My only suggestion would be to either clone or burn in a bit the stuff in the water below the fish's head. It's just a bit bright for my taste. |

Nice work and I'm with you on transforming the log. However, to me I think the scene works better without the log as the foreground. I don't care for the amount of "dead" ground and the log wants me to look at it and not the arch. I did a quick crop and burnt in the foreground a bit. I like the way the bushes lead to the arch and become the foreground in what seems to be a more integrated way. |
