Thanks Sharon. I understand your question but don't think I can give anything but my personal take. I like the reflections and think they add to the scene. It's possible some "landlubbers" may not understand what they are seeing but that wouldn't hold me back if I liked the image. |

Thanks Lisa. I don't think I changed the color much, other than lightening, but, frankly, I may have and have forgotten. It looks realistic to me. I'm curious as to how it looks off. I'll go and compare the raw with your comments and see if I skewed the colors in my processing. Mike |

This one is definitely a winner in my book. Great subject and presentation. I like the vignette and the expression of the frog, and the details of its front feet. The only suggestion I would make is to add a bit more foreground, so that the complete shadow of the frog is apparent. it might be necessary to reduce the vignette in the front center. When I was looking at the image, I thought maybe I was looking at your shadow, maybe shooting with a soft-box. Then I looked at the original and confirmed that it was the shadow of the frog itself. I think the shadow of the frog's head would add to the impact of the image. |

I feel your pain about SW Florida, within my roaming range. It was bad this year but seemed to be improving and the skimmer colony, at least, seemed to make a turn for the better. Fingers crossed that things will improve next season.
Your image is beautiful. I think the composition is original and creative. The separation of the subject and background is wonderful, and I love the highlights and repeating patterns in the image. Great job. I wouldn't change anything. |

I can imagine being at this scene and enjoying the rush of the water and mist. This is one that might have been nice as a video, to capture the sound and motion of the place. I might suggest bringing up the shadows, particularly on the boulders. A bit of clarity might be worth trying as well. |

Good looking snake and wonderful pose, resting on the stick. Nice job with focus at 1/60 and great job on the cropping. I think the image is great, just as it is. If I were processing it, I would see if I liked it better after reducing the highlights a bit, and maybe dodge in the nose of the snake a bit, to bring out more detail there. |

Such a great subject and you caught a great moment. I love the eye contact with the darker cub. (As a point of interest, I once looked up what to call a fox juvenile and found that both kit and cub are right. They are more closely aligned with dogs, but have a lot of cat characteristics as well.) I thought I'd play with the image a bit, as attached. It was probably a very clear morning, as the light looks strong to me. I reduced the highlights and the saturation on the portions of the upper cub/kit that looked a bit overexposed to me. I darkened the borders and reduced some of the sharpness of the background as well. |

ooh, aaah!!! This is a killer image. I've bounced back and forth between the landscape and portrait orientation and, frankly, it's a coin toss. If pressed, I would go vertical only due the vertical nature of the subject matter. The colors and overall composition and just wonderful. I'm not sure if I would touch it all but, again if pressed, I'd do a bit of editing. In the very back of the image there's a little curved twig that I would remove. Also, looking at the vertical, the trees on both the right and left side are two slim for my taste. I'd either crop a bit wider, to include more of those trees, or crop or clone them out, especially the one on the viewer's left. Truly an outstanding image. Congrats! |
