Thanks guys. The fisheye is not the sharpest lens in my bag but to my eye, is acceptably sharp. I see the glow around the rock on the upper left, and if I were to process this again, I would deal with that issue. Thanks for pointing it out Judith. I particularly like fisheye lenses and the special effects that they create and I almost always carry one with me. Thanks guys! |

Love is in the air! This is a wonderful image. My mind immediately imagines what the bees are communicating to each other. Their symmetry is beautiful to my and I think the selective focus is right where it should be. I can't think of anything that would make this a stronger image. Congrats! |

I think you nailed this one John. Getting him with both legs out of the water is great. I think the image is fine the way it is but, along the lines of what some of the others have said, I might play with the luminance, sharpness or brightness of the water just to create some separation with the subject. That said, the strong position of the bird draws my eye right to it and I like how pretty the water is as well. I'm on the fence as to whether I would mess with it or not. My only other suggestion, going forward, would be to try to get a lower angle which would make the image even stronger in my opinion. |

Nice sharp image with nice wing positions. I like the angle the bird is flying and that it is calling in flight. I agree that lightening up the eye a tiny bit would help. I might also play with the blue slider to see if there is any blue in the sky that could be brought out. Maybe not, but worth investigating. |

Nice job on the re-work. I like the darker background. It might look nice tilting it a bit more to the right but that is just something you might want to play with and see. Nice image! |

I agree with everyone's comments. The curves of the bodies and colors are just wonderful and the background and your treatment of it is a nice complement to the dragonflies. I don't have any suggestions. As to focus, I like the out of focus wings. Had you shot at f/8 or f/11 you would have more of the subject in focus, but I'm not sure I would have liked that better. The star here are the bugs bodies conforming to each other. |

This image provided immediate pop with wonderful colors and I think you did a masterful job in your post. I particularly like the way you cropped and tilted the image. It's almost impossible to get a large depth of field in an image like this, and you got it where it counts most, on the flower, which is itself a compelling subject. Possibly a smaller aperture would have helped but I'm guessing would still have been narrower than the dragonfly. |
