Thanks Sharon. I wish I had a place to display prints but, no such luck. I agree that it would look good on metal or on metallic paper. I also use Epson Hot Press Bright, which would give it a different but nice look too as well. It's one of my favorite papers. Thanks for the feedback,
Mike

I'm a bit conflicted about this image, which sometimes is the purpose of art. Part of me sees the etherial beauty and part of me is distracted by the different deteriorated portions of the leaf.
I'm not sure if your white vignette caused it but it bothers me a little that the top and left borders of the leave begin to fade. I'm also a bit distracted by the dark portion of the leaf, which looks like the portion that was in the hole is doubled back on the leaf.
All that being said, I've spent more time looking at this image I usually spend so there's some mysterious quality that is drawing me to it. |

Thanks guys. Lisa, thanks for the point out. It's a boat and because I know that, I'm probably not objective about seeing it as a distraction as my brain, not my eyes, fill in the information. That makes your comment very helpful. Thanks! |

Great light and exposure that looks wonderful to me. I can put myself right into the scene and although I normally like a clean background, this one works just the way it is. I have no suggestions to offer. |

I agree with the other comments. Opening the shadows a bit might be worth trying. I can imagine all types of subjects. What's interesting to me is that the image makes me imagine someone walking away from the camera, down the path. I wonder if most people would imagine that or coming toward the point of view. It's that missing subject that works for me with this image as it causes me to interact with the image and not just look at it. |

Croak - in a good way that is! Nice image. I like the cropped version better, but I might open it a bit larger and provide a bit more space in front of the frog. The only suggestion I can make would be to remove some of the blue on the rock. It might have been like that but doesn't look natural to me. It might be as easy as going into saturation or hue and reducing blue. I think I would also darken the rock and/or add a vignette. |

Love the image. Everything I have to say is a nit. After getting past the wow factor of the image, it appeared to me that there was a halo around the zebras, but when I looked close I couldn't see one. It's possible that one of your adjustments (spotlight?) created something that gives this impression. Comparing hte tonality of the grass between the animals legs to that outside that area, the lightness and color looks very different to me. One fix may be some light burning in those areas. It may be that those areas in the grass, cause our brains to create a halo?
Also, I'm not sure what turning down clarity did, unless you just painted it onto the background and not the zebra? Generally, I use that as a form of blurring so I'm not sure how you used it here.
Great image.

I agree, lovely image. It looks like the wing motion caused some motion blur which I know is attractive to maybe the majority of viewers. For me, however, I like to get the wings sharp. The blur robbed some detail from the feathers which I would have liked to see. That said, there is a wow factor to the image given the beauty of the subject and interesting composition that I think makes it a winner. The background and contrasting colors are wonderful. A minor nit, I would have liked the tail feathers not to touch or overlap the snag, but not much you could do about that. I mention it only from a "judging" perspective. One thing that stands out to me, is the soft tonality of the image. I love whatever you did to create that effect. If it could be duplicated, I'd love to know how to do it. On the image I submitted I used Glamor Glow, but that would not produce a texture as nice as this one. |
