Thanks Sharon. I made a jpeg of the raw file, attached. It looks like I actually lightened up everything, including the background and added some warmth. |

Good feedback Carol. I cropped in on this image and could add some space where you suggest. Thanks |

The stuff Christmas Cards are made of! I agree with Lisa but I don't think it's your shutter speed since the bird was posed and not in flight. I'm wondering how close you were. The closer you are, the shallower the depth of field. With your settings and camera at 20' your depth of field would be .33'. At 10' it would be .08' Also, with snow falling you could have inadvertently focused on snow flakes. Sometimes in those conditions it's necessary to manually focus. You might be able to brush in some sharpness to the body of the bird in LR. Maybe take out the contrast you added first. Also, I would dodge around the bird's eye so that it is more distinguishable. |

I also like the colors and the stark orange of the tree against the beautiful blue sky. I agree with Carol and would burn the sky in the lower left section. Good luck! |

Wow, what a perfect reflection. I love the composition with the plants in the foreground between the "V" of the trees. Nice job. I don't think the slow shutter speed hurt you at all as everything looks sharp to me. It did look to me that there was a glow along the top of the tree lines. I took a try at processing a bit and brushed those areas with a reduced highlight adjustment. I also brushed in some exposure to the shadows on the left to bring out more color and detail in that area. Very pretty |

There's a lot going on in this image, which caused me to spend some time enjoying the scene. To the right of the pond it looks like a reflection of something that's not there. Did you remove something? If so, I'd take out the reflection as well. As to the warming filter, I think some selective color adjustment may improve the image. The bluish bird to the left looks too blue on my monitor. I think I would paint out some of the blue. Also, the whites of the egrets looks like it could be toned down slightly. I think I might also apply a subtle vignette as well. |

I like the painterly effect on the horse, which looks quite natural to me. To my eye, it seems like to abrupt a transition from the area around the horse to the background. It looks overly blurred. On the other hand, I might blur the tree right behind the horses head, a bit more, to help separate the horse from the background. The horses pose is very nice and implies action that I like a lot. I would probably add some canvas to the bottom so the front hoof is not so close to the border. |

I like this image a lot. The perch is interesting and the background provides a nice soft color contrast. It was fine as is but I was a bit distracted by the blade of vegetation behind the bird's head, which looked a bit sharper than the vegetation around it. I added some blur to that stalk and also did a bit of burning on the bird's brown feathers and as a slight vignette. |
