This is great, Bruce! I love the inquiring attitude of the little frog, and how delicately he is perched on the princess's fingers. Her pose is perfect as well. The "Prince Magnet" perfume is icing on a wonderful cake. Your lighting and background really enhance the image. It's a classic story told in a very humorous way.
The princess's little finger on her left hand is just out of frame. It doesn't bother me but if that's the sort of thing a judge would note if this is a competition image, you might consider that. |

This is an intriguing image, Brad. I really like the composition; I think you have an effective sizing and the placement of the elements. I like the idea too, and I think the originals do feel as if they can work together.
It might be interesting to see the upper waterfall filling up the flower into a partially visible pool, and spilling down the edge of the petal in front. I think if the water on top went all the way into the flower it would make a visual connection to the lower waterfall.
I'd consider darkening the area around the flower in the center of the image, making the transition between the landscapes more mysterious.
I know what you mean about maybe putting it away for a while; I think coming back with fresh eyes is really useful sometimes. |

Alan, I love the textures of all the doors and how the woman pops out in contrast in that blue outfit. The woman's body language is so perfect, both leaning forward ready to move but poised, which conveys her indecision to me. It's so interesting how the partial glimpses of her seem to have variations on her pose in the center figure.
This image really brings me back to times when I've been trying to figure out which door to try next, and aware of time ticking away.
I really like your most recent version. Expanding the doors, partially seen, really gives me the feeling that this labyrinth is huge. I think enlarging the woman on the left works well.
Very cool image! |

Maria, I really love this sunset. The color is so warm and golden that it makes me just want to step right onto the beach. I really like how the sun is ready to dip behind the clouds, but right now is shining all the way to the beach and the children. I also like how the clouds and the sea merge as they get further away from the center.
I think you've gotten some great comments above.
I think the proportions and the running motion of the child in pink look great; the one in the striped poncho is at an odd angle to me and is more static. It might be interesting to remove him entirely. |

This is such a cool image, Kirsti! I love the blur and energy lines of the motorcyclist; it gives me a powerful feeling of speed and excitement. I think the icy surface works really well. There is plenty of light in the scene even though it is night, so the reflection/shadow works for me.
I like the mystery of the spectator, and think your version with the reduced brightness of the spectator works really well. I also really like where you placed the spectator; I think your two figures create an interesting balance to the composition. |
