Thanks, Alan!
The ghost was the hardest part of this image for me; I went from a suggestion of a ghost (like the version you thoughtfully provided) to what I posted as my final image. I don't have access to the image right now (my laptop is across the Atlantic), but now I'm thinking I'd like to revisit it when I get a chance, to try for something in between. Thanks for your suggestion! |

So true!
It's interesting; when I made the comment I could only view your image on my phone; now I've seen it on my laptop and the yellow of the sign doesn't stand out as much to my eye; it feels just right when the image is larger. |

I would consider cropping a bit off the right, but that's just me |

I think this image is beautiful and mysterious, Brad. I love the way the road leads to the Milky Way. The mountains add an interesting movement and energy that ties the starry sky to the bright road. The landscape has a rhythm in its texture that almost echoes the stars.
I like the message of the sign, but the yellow is a little jarring to my eye; I would consider a little desaturation.
The birds feel a bit disconnected from the road and Milky Way.
It might be interesting to have a parade of birds leading from the road/Milky Way up to your large bird. |

This is a very striking image, Alan. I love your strong horizontal segments. I think the man's body language really works to connect the sky to the chess board- I feel as if he is a physical link between the two, actually holding the chess board suspended. For this reason, I think your color version works better for me than the b&w, aided by the blue of his jeans.
I understand now why this is "Untitled". |

Every element is beautifully integrated in this image, Maria; it all looks very natural together. I am especially impressed with the girls' reflections in the water. I really like the depth of the image, with my eye traveling from the foreground into the deeper forest and the building.
I was very surprised to see the crocodile, but it works really well, in my opinion. Although I think an idyllic scene (such as Alan's crop) is lovely, for me there's an additional dimension added with the potential for danger. It reminds me of Renaissance paintings with a skull in the corner in the shadows.
I do keep thinking the crocodile's reflection is its lower jaw.
The white tree at the left seems to cut the image into 2 pieces, to my eye. Maybe that's what you intended, separating the girls from the danger. Personally I'd consider darkening that tree. |

I can really feel the magic in this image, Kirsti. The girl is so serious and intense, I can believe she has conjured up the ghostly bear. The bear feels benevolent as well as powerful.
I really like the idea that she has imagined her magical bear when she sees the brown bear and think Brad's idea about moving the brown bear to the side is a good one.
I like the placement of her arm and how it goes ghostly as she reaches into the bear. Personally I would consider reducing opacity of the bear at the edge where they overlap, feathering it so it becomes more and more real. |

A very fun image, Aavo! It really makes me smile. I like how the background colors complement the giraffe and how the goat stands out in its black and white. The goat itself is delightfully comical, both in shape and expression. |

I like your suggestion very much. I'm going to revisit this image with that in mind. |
