Yes, it will be. Thanks for pointing it out!
Although it might be fun for me to put hidden faces in future images... ;0) |

That is so funny, Alan!
I didn't see it before, but I think I know what you mean.
Are the eyes, nose, and teeth as circled here?

Thank you, Brad!
It's been a real balancing act to make the subject feel like part of the scene. Your suggestion to reduce some of the fog was very helpful. I've gone a step further here to make him a bit less transparent, compared to the version above in my response to Maria's comment. |

Thank you, Kirsti! I appreciate your comments, especially because that is exactly the effect I was trying to get.
The colors of the background showing up in his garb are due to my lowering the opacity of his layer. Topaz Restyle change the light blue of the roof at his feet and over his shoulder to light orange, which I thought was more interesting.
I have been reading about how color or surrounding background shapes can unify an image, so I was really happy when I saw this Topaz Restyle choice. I'm hoping to get familiar enough with the concept to make the change on my own without relying on the software. |

Thanks, Maria!
Great suggestion. I was thinking because it was very overcast that there was no shadow, but looking at the rooftop I see that there was. Also, I think it works anyway. Here's my update. I've incorporated Brad's suggestion about getting rid of some of the fog as well. |

Great image, Brad! I think we have all been on this road.
I love how there are more puddles down that long, long road, with the promise of blue sky at the end. Dare we go on, or will an unseen alligator get us? The grinning jaws of the nearest alligator are at just the right angle. I like the way you darkened that puddle to suggest it's a sinkhole big enough for that alligator, not just a shallow puddle.
The deer and the second alligator work very well to add balance and add to the story.
There's a very bright line of shiny areas from the first puddle to the sky. It feels a little distracting to me. I might consider burning it down a bit.
I'd love to see a bit of an alligator snout poking up in one of the mid-range puddles. Can't afford to get too complacent. |

This is such a happy image, Alan! I love everything about it - the colors, the bunnies dressed up in their holiday finery, the balloons rising up from the slot. I think using the gradient to go from foreground to background works really well. I'm going to try to remember that trick. The perspective of the fence gives a very nice feeling of depth.
Thanks for the tutorial, too!
It's a wonderful image. I would not change a thing. |

This is a very sweet image, Maria! I love the little girl with the umbrella almost covering her. Your color palette works very well, with everything in natural colors, and the girl in blue.
I love the leaf brush strokes. They almost look like snowflakes or butterflies.
I like the triptych effect. I think I would like it more here if it didn't go through so much of the tree. |

Thanks for visiting our group, Stephen! That's an interesting suggestion. I'd like to see the result too if Maria is interested in trying that. |

Welcome to the group, Kirsti!
Your granddaughter is lovely. The whole image is quite charming. I really like the colors, with your granddaughter's dress a very nice complement to the golden hues. I think the globe balances very nicely with the foreground girl. The stars look great.
I really like how similar the girls look but also somewhat different. It makes me wonder if it's the same girl from a different universe or time? Or is it her sister? Using your granddaughter in the picture twice gives it a sense of mystery.
Personally, I think the lighting works well. It gives me a real sense of foreground, mid-ground, and background. I believe you could decrease the brightness on the wall a bit using the brightness slider in the exposure tool.
I might consider moving the girl by the wall a little bit to the left, to create more of a triangle in the composition.
Your image is very well done. I'm so glad you joined our group!
