Thanks, Maria!
It's funny, I had thought that she was taming the upper part to make the lower part, but it makes more sense that she is spinning a tornado. I really like that idea.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones! |

Thanks, Aavo!
It felt a little unbalanced before I added the bird, but I think you are right in that the bird wasn't the answer. |

A very touching image, Peter! Your lovely granddaughter gives it a poignant feeling, with such a soulful expression and the resignation of her clasped hands. The posts in the ground feel to me like a barrier between her and the rest of the image, which adds to the story.
Your composition is excellent. I love all the geometric shapes and how the clouds draw in near the lighthouse. I think the addition of the boulder works well.
Personally, I like your original sepia version, while also understanding the suggestions to vary it. I think it might be worthwhile to keep an eye on the bright spots of the clouds and the waves if you lessen the sepia to be sure that brightness doesn't become a distraction. |

A truly glorious flower, Brad! I love the blur and the colors. I felt distracted by the butterfly in your original , but I think it adds a lot with the blur in your second version. I think its black color works really well with the strong colors of the flower.
If I had been creating this, I would have cropped off a bit of the left of the image, but I think that would have been a mistake. There's so much power having that glowing flower in the center.
I would not change anything from your second version. |

A fascinating image, Alan! I really like how cautious the lions feel, given their obvious power. Your landscape setting is perfect. And I am wondering myself about the mysterious globe - it suggests so many possibilities.
This image works really well in b&w as well.
My only suggestion is that the shadow on the top of the globe seems a bit heavy, as the light is coming from the sky.

This is such a glorious image, Maria! I love the colors and those wonderful clouds. The blending is seamless. Both the lighthouse and the sailboat are beautiful.
For me, the light beams add a welcome touch; this image feels very light and dreamlike to me.
I originally thought that the lighthouse was too small compared to the sailboat, but having recently seen a number of lighthouses now I realize that they come in all sizes. I tried out a larger lighthouse anyway just to see how it looked. I like your version better. |

A touching image, beautifully enhanced with the colors and softness of the sky. I like how those colors are subtly added to the plants growing along the walkway.
I really like how the wooden walkway winds its way through the image.
I'm not sure whether I would understand that the couple are pushing someone in a wheelchair without your explanation, but given that it works very well.
I like the bridge as it is, especially with the colors because it's sort of a rainbow. It might be interesting to see it at a lowered opacity. |

I think this is a powerful image, Aavo. I really feel the loneliness , especially with the empty bench and her folded arms. I think your perspective of shooting her straight on really makes this work for me. Well done!
I like your idea of telling a story with the dead flowers and empty bottle but personally think the loneliness is clear enough and credible enough without them. The attention would be all on the woman if you went with the newspaper or dried leaves. |
