Thanks, Kathy!

Excellent suggestion, Aavo. I didn't notice the trees before but now they just bother me. Thanks! |

Such a charming turtle! I love the way its head is raised and the expression on its face. You captured all of its beautiful detail.
Great title.
It looks very much at home on the rock. The green of the water is a very compatible tone with the brown on the turtle. I like the way the tall plants lead my eye up the sunbeams.
Personally, I like the white vignette, though I might choose to use a bit less of it. I'd love to see more of that wonderful turtle, and so would consider cropping in. |

This is really excellent, Brad!
I love the colors and the softening of focus. It's beautiful and believable. The tightness of the petals in the center add a touch of tension and mystery - what will this flower develop into in the coming days?
My only suggestion is that you might want to consider decreasing brightness of the green area on the lower left a bit. I think it's the brightest part of the image, and I would much prefer to look at the beautiful flower you invented. |

Very spooky, Alan!
The black background and ample shadows definitely give me a feeling of a nightmare, especially with that strange lady with the enigmatic smile. That horse definitely knows something but he's not telling. I think the light on the horse works very well with the spotlit lady. That poor desaturated man seems very well situated in the shadows.
I think your diagonal composition is a good idea for this nightmare, especially since the light is forcing my eye backwards from the usual left to right. It adds to that uncomfortable feeling.
The woman seems larger than I would expect compared to the horse, but that doesn't bother me because she is such a dominant part of the image.
I do feel she should be place lower in the frame, both to emphasize the diagonal and to put her head in a more expected position relative to the horse, but perhaps it was a conscious choice to increase the feeling of discomfort.
Personally, I would have made the man a little smaller, more from a feeling of his fading into the shadows than from a physical size consideration.

This is a really great image, Kathy!
I wish it really was the cover of a book because I want to read it. The woman's focus and body language are perfect, making it very credible that she hasn't seen the man with the gun yet. What a great model! Beautiful light on her face and the texture of her coat.
The staircase leads very nicely up to the door and that sinister silhouette. The light on the doorframe next to the man really draws my eye to him.
Your gritty black and white finish is the perfect finishing touch.
My only suggestion is that the snow on the steps draws my eye a bit more than I'd like. Personally, I would consider either toning down the brightness or cloning in more step and less snow. That's just a nit, though.
It's a truly inspirational image. I want to go out and try my hand at it now.

This really made me smile, Aavo!
A very fun idea implemented with an excellent choice of components. Every part of the image is interesting - the fabulously textured pumpkin, the climbers, that gorgeously undulating desert scene.
The yellows and oranges work so nicely with the blues, and the red shirts of the tiny climbers really make them stand out.
I agree with the others about the fellow on top - I feel he would be better either toned down or eliminated.
I really like the third pumpkin in the distance. If it were smaller I think it would balance the composition to perfection.
Very well done. Thank you for the smiles this image prompts!
