Such a fun and creative image, Betty!
Great body language on the musician and the cat.
I really like what you have done with the background. Darkening the arches works well to give that feeling of depth, and the pattern reminds me of the tiles in the Underground stations. The colors and vibrance suggest to me that the music being played is vibrant and energetic. No wonder the cat is enthralled!
I have to admit that I'm of two minds about the people. On the one hand, I really like the contrast of them to the cat. On the other hand, I like the musician and the cat so much that I do find the people to be a bit of a distraction. |

Such a beautiful image!
It is interesting how the change in perspective between Original 1 and 2 somehow makes that rock formation look closer and more personal. The sunstar adds a nice feeling of hope. It's a poignant image standing all on its own, and even more touching knowing your personal story.
I really like your composition. I tend to have a strong preference for off-center compositions, but this really works for me. I love the way the water is leading my eye into the picture.
The stars area very nice addition. They emphasize the glow of the sun and add a touch of the mystical.
It would be interesting to add some of the golden glow color to the water and the people. And perhaps do just a touch of a levels adjustment to bring your histogram a bit to the right. |

Very fun, Aavo!
I especially like the fellow running away. I didn't see him at first glance but that nice red shirt against the gold background didn't let him hide for long.
Very nice focus of the man on the agave stalk by the elk and the lizard. I'd be climbing as fast as possible too! I like how the giant butterfly is there above him. Perhaps he is not so safe after all.

I am actually fortunate enough to have a shot of the lion that I could have tweaked to have him looking at the chimps. I think I just subconsciously liked this version of the lion. I do agree that it would probably fit the story better if the lion was looking at the chimps.
Interesting comment about the rocks and the colors. I will keep that in mind in the future. Thanks! |

Thanks for your comment! It's funny, because the only reason I thought about adding the lion is because of the convention for this site to use 3 original images. But I really see what you mean. I happened to first read your comment on my phone, and it struck me very strongly that there is an image here about that setting and the lion. Great feedback!
I like the idea of a challenger at the ground level. Perhaps an image for a future month. |
